How long did it take you to get pregnant after ectopic?

Just wondered if people would mind sharing with me. I had an ectopic pregnancy in January and lost left tube. TTC again, on cycle 2 and AF is on its way. I know it's early days still but I can't help panicking that it's just not going to happen for me.

If you also had an ectopic, would you mind sharing how long it was until you were pregnant again?

Thank you smile

After my second ectopic (which is when they removed the tube) I was pregnant again within 4 months. We didn't try the first cycle because I thought some healing time was in order.

Good luck.

It was 7 cycles for me. I've had 3 lovely boys since my tube was removed - fingers crossed it happens soon for you

We waited a year post tube removal -(and had an amazing group holiday that needed antimalarials that I'd have missed if still pregnant), then took 2 months. DS2 took a similar length of time.
flowers hope you get the news you want soon

Thank you so much...those are all overwhelmingly positive!

I am lucky that I have a ds already, and got pg easily with him. But am finding the whole experience post ectopic really hard in various ways.

Had my first ectopic in July 2013, then second one in September 2015 (had taken all that time to get pregnant again...).
I'm pregnant at the moment and conceived in March at the first go after my laparoscopy (February). We had waited quite a while after the second ectopic and were under the care of a fertility specialist. I'm pretty sure I would have gotten pregnant earlier if we had tried earlier, but I simply needed time.
Didn't lose any of my tubes, though. Doctors thought that since one of them is already completely blocked, taking the other one out wouldn't be helpful. We did conceive naturally in the end. So far, everything seems to be going fine. Baby is very happily bouncing around and in the right place this time.

Surgery to remove left tube 15th July 2015, BFP 2nd October 2015. The consultant also confirmed that I ovulated from my left ovary (the side I lost my tube from), baby is due in a couple of weeks.

Good luck!

Ah yes, my post ectopic baby came from my tubeless side too!

My ectopic was on 10th October 2013, and I lost my right tube. I was advised not to try for another baby for 3 months, but we started trying after 2 months, and got the BFP 2nd cycle of trying. Our beautiful baby boy was born on 9th October 2014, so 1 day before the years anniversary of the ectopic.

Good luck.xx

I had an ectopic pregnancy exactly a year ago, we didn't try for another as they told me it may be hard to fall pregnant and that it could be another ectopic. In March this year we had unprotected sex once and I'm now 11 weeks pregnant with a very healthy baby!smile I would say leave it a few months for your body to heal and then try again! Hope it all works out for you!

Had an EP in March 2014, no tube removal but advised not to try for 3 months so tried again from August, got BFP in January 2015, MMC in February, BFP in October and due in a few weeks too grin

Sorry to hear you've been through this. We conceived healthy baby 2nd cycle after we started trying again!

OP here, wanted to update the thread in case someone finds it having gone through their own ectopic pregnancy. I conceived 9 months after the ectopic, 7 months ttc. He was born a week ago and I can't believe how lucky we are.

So if anyone reads this having gone through a similar experience, please do take some hope!
