So with my ds labour was 5hours
From start to finish, I'm intrigued as to whether my next labour will be shorter or longer😁

What was everyone's experiences like?

Ds1: 2 hours from 1st contraction to birth.
Ds2: about 15 mins from 1st contraction.
Both spontaneous. Waters went about 30 mins before 1st contraction with Ds1 and 10 mins before 1st contacting with Ds2.

Thanks for the replies 😊 Would you say they were easier labours after your first labour?

dizzytomato Tue 24-May-16 21:15:27

Second was 5 hours total, third was 3 hours total and last was 4 hours total. I was told to expect them to be shorter each time. Didn't happen.

Outnumb3red Tue 24-May-16 21:18:45

First was induced and was about 23 hours.
Second was 90 mins.
I'm due no 3 on Thursday

VocationalGoat Tue 24-May-16 21:20:06

DC2 was my easiest labour... and shortest.

But all 3 were beautiful experiences... the best ever in life, for sure.
DC3 was not a long labour but seemed to be the most painful of my 3. I put that down to age perhaps. I was 42 when I had him.

LBOCS2 Tue 24-May-16 21:20:21

First was induced - 12hours from first contraction, about 8 hours active labour.

Second was spontaneous, 2 hours active labour.

Oly5 Tue 24-May-16 21:21:29

37 hours with first
32 hours with second
Both a nightmare smile

girlandboy Tue 24-May-16 21:26:54

Nope, second labour was twice as long and twice as difficult.
Second baby was a whopper though so I put it down to that confused

PottyMouthed Tue 24-May-16 21:32:18

First labour, around 17hrs. 2nd 4hr, 3rd (induced) 5hrs, 4th 2.5hrs.

Dc1- 24 hours from waters breaking (contractions shortly after) to giving birth.

DC2- almost 3 days from first contraction to giving birth. This one was back to back though.

The actual pushing was significantly easier and shorter the second time round. 2 pushes and out. I'm not sure what that says about my pelvic floor blush

Zoomtothespoon Wed 25-May-16 20:13:08

First labour was 18 hours, second was 9 but they were both at funny angles so I was pushing for a very long time

I'm going to be obsessing over spinning babies by October and fingers crossed this one comes alot quicker- or at least requires less pushing!

Jjtwhite26 Wed 25-May-16 20:23:20

Quite a range then, there's just no predicting is there😊 Was hoping I would just sneeze and baby will just fall out This time round 😂

notquite2point4 Wed 25-May-16 20:25:23

First labour 13 hours , 10 hours established, fairly straightforward.
Second labour 12 days, two failed inductions, a billion sweeps and waters broken. Established about an hour! Hell.On.Earth!!

Stiddleficks Wed 25-May-16 20:26:02

Dd1 38 hours
Dd2 1hr45mins
