Prams/Travel System Help

Hi everyone

I am expecting my first child in November and seem to be going round in circles trying to choose a pram! My main considerations are that it has to be fairly compact, parent facing, easy fold, swivel wheels, fit in a Nissan Juke, be compatible with the Maxi Cosi isofix car seat and not be too expensive! I realise I am asking for a lot!

I really like the Oyster 2 however I also like the look of the Maxi Cosa Mura, Uppababy Cruz, the Urbo 2 and the Joie Chrome Plus. Does anyone have any recommendations on which of these might be most suitable?

Also is it really necessary to buy a 3 in 1 travel system or will a pushchair with new born insert and separate car seat be okay? Space is an issue as we are currently in a flat. Also pushchair will be for urban use and not many long journeys.

Many thanks I really appreciate any advice!

Baby's r us do one called the Babylo max, its currently 199. Takes the maxi cosi. I can fit it in the back of a Skoda citigo/VW up. Front or rear facing. We bought it when our mother care my4 became unusable and to be honest I think it's excellent. Baby sits up in a great position as well, doesn't slump, and the quality of the fixtures seems excellent. Things such as fabric covered bumpers not foam, which seems irrelevant until DC start chewing all the foam off for example!

I had the oyster 1 and loved it. I have a bugaboo cameleon at the mo and seriously considering swapping it for an oyster 2. I loved all the features on the oyster it was compact and good on all terrains.

Have a look at the Armadillo Flip from mamas and papas. It is so amazing. Folds easily and small. Lie flat seat. Mahooosive hood. Seat is parent facing or outward.

Just got the armadillo flip as so easy to open and close. We couldnt get half the systems to work. Id advise you to book into mammas and papas or similar and play with the prams! I discovered i physically couldnt left the car seat out so with a baby in forget it.

Car seats don't put baby in a great position for development and they shouldn't be in them for long periods of time so this always puts me off travel systems.

We went for a separate car seat to the travel system due our playing with them! How on enough people carry babies in car seats i dont know. Everyone must be really strong!!!!! Or im really weak.

Omg me too - why is it so complicated!!!!

We are going to choose ours today - we have a small car and are hoping the silvercross wayfarer will fit in. I also like to get out and about so hoping it will cope with that.

I know it's all so confusing! I also am concerned about the amount of time they will spend in the car seat. However, I don't like the idea of the lie flat bassinet's either as I think the baby is too exposed to roll around in there unless there is some kind of mattress/cocoon. I would ideally like a pushchair that is suitable from birth and faces both ways and get a car seat separately perhaps but most seem to come as part of a travel system.

The Oyster 2 is quite good and the bassinet attachment is prefect for newborns.

So baby's got wheels! Got a good deal on the Oyster 2 limited edition city bronze with pushchair, carrycot, footmuff, colour pack and changing bag. Next stop - car seats!!!

And it fits comfortably in the Nissan Juke boot if anyone else is considering it!
