I need sleep

I've had PGP since very early in my pregnancy and am now 35 weeks. I've been having chiropractic treatment (plus had physio and hydrotherapy early on) and been managing pretty well. Until now.

For the last week and a half the pain has been awful and I even had to cut my chiro session short as it hurt so much I thought I was going to be physically sick.

It's as if my pelvis is constantly rigid even though I'm alternating between lying down, walking around and sitting on the fit ball. I've not slept properly since the flare up and I just don't know how I'm functioning. I went to bed about 10pm and have managed 10 mins so far. Last night I was up and down all night until I gave up at 3.30am ish and just watched tv.

Has anyone got a magic cure? I've decided to take paracetamol regularly which is something I've avoided until now because I just want to sleep. I'm tired but there's not a single position that's comfortable for more than 20mins. What can I do?

Talk to your consultant. I'm sure they can bring your cesarean forward if you need it. As about the paracetamol, you might need something stronger and it's best to ask for advice about pain relief and cross placental dosage.

If you're delivering vaginally?? make sure the midwife knows how much in pain you are in and your range of motion or exactly how far you can spread your legs.

If I were you I'd ask for an elective, and as soon as is possible, and safe for your babe. You might find the steroids they give you for the baby's lungs do you some good too.

Sorry you're so wrecked, it's miserable having this.
I had spd, and couldn't walk, and my wrists went too, so I just couldn't wait to have my babes. My chiro wouldn't touch me in the end for fear of ripping the cartilage.

Definately talk with your consultant.

Thanks all. I managed about 30mins sleep and have spent the morning dozing for 20mins at a time until I had to get up and get going. I also took 3 lots of paracetamol. I should have taken some more at 1pm but haven't yet.

I'll check out cranial osteopathy. I'm willing to try anything and would prefer it didn't involve drugs if possible.

I wish I wasn't moaning as this baby is very much wanted but it's so hard not to when in constant pain. Plus I've gone from being able to sleep easily to barely anything. It's not nice when I do wake up as my pelvis has frozen so I can't even be relieved I've slept.

Not long now though but I need him to stay put before we move house. Nothing like piling on the pressure!
