Hiya, so I have my Anti D injection tomorrow and was told by a friend that they inject the tummy for it? Is this true as I had no idea? I'm hugely phobic of needles so I want to be mentally prepared. (blush)

No, I don't think so or at least mine wasn't. They put it in the muscle in my bum cheek!! I assumed that was standard but will have to see with this pregnancy in a couple of weeks.

Had several anti d injections. Never in my tummy.

I've had several too, always in the bum.

Top of thigh/ underneath my bum. Never had it in my stomach.

LuckySantangelo1 Tue 17-May-16 16:20:09

Mine went in my thigh

thehisuix Tue 17-May-16 16:23:03

Hmm weird.. no idea why I was told that?! angry Thanks for the replies!

Junosmum Tue 17-May-16 16:25:26

Mine was in my arm.

Dixiechick17 Tue 17-May-16 16:29:01

I was given a choice of bum or arm, she said bum would be less painful so I opted for that.

seven201 Tue 17-May-16 16:29:04

Mine was in my upper arm (about 1 month ago in Kent).

Julieb85 Tue 17-May-16 16:34:18

Also in my arm...

rubberducker Tue 17-May-16 16:40:46

I've always been given the choice of arm or bum, never stomach!

hugoagogo Tue 17-May-16 16:43:01

Mine was in my thigh, I seem to remember being told it had to be in a large muscle.

yorkshireteaa Tue 17-May-16 16:58:46

I had one back of my upper arm!

Lilliana Tue 17-May-16 17:05:02

Bum/thigh too

Clickncollect Tue 17-May-16 17:11:00

Bum for me too - didn't even feel it as midwife chatted away.

OhtoblazeswithElvira Tue 17-May-16 17:12:40

Arm and bum smile

MistressMerryWeather Tue 17-May-16 17:21:26

Upper arm here.

mayhew Tue 17-May-16 17:21:32

Your friend might be confusing this with anti clot injections. They are often given in the tummy.

MistressMerryWeather Tue 17-May-16 17:24:17

Rabies vaccine is also given in the stomach. wink

I think your friend is confuddled.

TheCrumpettyTree Tue 17-May-16 20:42:04

Both times I had it in my arm.

cheapredwine Tue 17-May-16 20:43:49

Has to go into a muscle. Thigh or bum here. I opted for latter, thigh can give you a dead leg.

justdontevenfuckingstart Tue 17-May-16 20:44:54

Another bum here.

NotWithoutMyMerkin Tue 17-May-16 20:46:13

All mine into my arm

Baileycakes Tue 17-May-16 20:47:12

Mine was in my arm for both my pregnancies
