40+4, second baby, no signs?!

Sorry for twisty post....
So I'm 40+4 today, lying here in a 45 degree hot bath with 20 drops of clary sage essential oil stimulating my sensitive and aching nipples! I've tried EVERYTHING.... I know I know baby won't come til is ready, but my first was 40+5, aren't the second ones supposed to come quicker? Lol. I'm still only 4/5 engaged and have my next appointment with MW on Tuesday, where she is going to DISCUSS a sweep? (I'll be 40+6) Surely that should have been discussed before now? I was so excited as I had my 'clear out' (sorry for TMI) last week, and was getting cramps and got awoken at 5am one morning with what I thought was a real contraction, turns out it wasn't. I have really bad SPD and am just so so fed up now. Since yesterday I've had no niggles or cramps and baby's movement seems to have slowed to the point where I only feel it 3-4 times a day.... I've bounced the life out of the birthing ball, and used 50 evening primrose oil capsules the past 5 days. That's ten a day!! I've even tried to feel my own cervix but to be honest I either can't reach it or have no clue what it feels like.... Blush i would be so so grateful for any tips, advice etc but yes I know it'll only come when it's ready, but I'd love to hear what may have worked for you guys and what can help set the process off naturally... TIA x

Echoing what the PP said - a change in movements, particularly a significant slowdown, should be checked out. Please call the assessment suite tonight Flowers

Everything is fine! Baby decided to kick the living day lights out of the monitor and made me look like a liar. I'm still pregnant Grin midwife tomorrow... Hopefully I'll get a sweep and baby will come! Fingers crossed!

Glad everything's okay. Reduced movements are never to be ignored.

You can't start labour. You just can't. I know the desire is to DO something but given that nothing works at all, what you should do is whatever you want. Make yourself happy. I chose cake and sitting.

My 1st was a week early and my 2nd (who is still a lazy sod!) was a week late. Hope something happens for you soon!
