Can't sleep. Hours and hours of constant nausea. Im so fed up with it Sad I'm almost 7 weeks pregnant and it just seems to be getting worse and worse. I've been sick all day every day for a week, I have zero appetite, surviving on cream crackers. I've tried so many things- sea sickness wrist bands, eating little and often, meditation and breathing techniques, ginger tea, gaviscon. It's really affecting me mentally now too as I am basically house bound and feeling so low. I called an acupuncturist but she can't see me for another week and a half. The last three nights I've heaved so much I brought up some blood. There has to be something that will help? , I just don't think I can do this for another 6 weeks. I'm feeling so tired, emotional and vulnerable. Surely it shouldn't have to be like this?

Is this your first pregnancy? You are obviously really suffering - you have my complete sympathies. It is absolutely hideous. There are meds you can take, and if you're losing weight you risk dehydration so a doc would likely prescribe something. Have you look at the pregnancy sickness support website?
I've just come out the other end of sickness and am now 14 weeks. Hang in there - brighter days are ahead X

As others have said see your gp lots of good and safe medication you can take (safer than dehydration through not keeping fluids down) do find us on hyperemesis thread for support as lots of good advice and support especially if it doesn't get better straight away

Hi twinklelittlestar1
I feel for you....my sickness started just before 7 weeks & I was being sick 8-9 times a day!! Felt awful couldn't do anything was going to bed early everynight to try relieve the sickness!
Ended up at cuedoc week later and on verge of dehydrating. The doctor was lovely & prescribed me promethazine which I have taken since. They have really helped & im only sick once or twice now but not half as bad as it was.
Please make an appointment & don't suffer hun. These lovely people on here helped me & are fantastic at giving support - join the hypermesis thread also.
good luck hun xx

The doctor prescribed Avomine, really hope this gives me some relief. I hear it can make you drowsy which is good for me as I have had insomnia with my pregnancy. Anyone any experience with this tablet?

Glad you were seen and prescribed something.

No experience with Avomine but had Promethazine, like a PP, and that made me v v drowsy. I had to time taking them so as not to nod off at the wrong time of day!

Also second the HG support thread; loads of wonderful women struggling who are able to offer support and suggestions of things that might help you.

Glad you got prescribed something! I'm in the midst of HG too so I really do sympathise. I hope the meds work for you but if they don't, make sure you go back.

The HG support thread has been invaluable to me.

Mine kicked in pretty much instantly Twinkle and built up over a week or so. I've not been prescribed what you have though- hopefully someone more knowledgable will respond soon!

Thanks Rae, how are you doing now? I remember you from the November due date board. Are you getting any kind of normality off the meds?

I feel ok today, still eating very little though, Stomach feels delicate and I'm weak and groggy but it's much better than constant nausea and sickness. Not sure I'll manage to get to work on Monday.

Glad you're feeling a little better Twinkle. Take it easy.

I was discharged from hospital (needed emergency fluids) last Sunday. The extra medication seems to be helping- I can keep water and bland food down (eating lots of Ready Brek!) I'm signed off work until Tuesday but am basically bed bound still. Going to see my GP on Monday to see what she thinks. I reckon I might be ok doing a half day in the office and then working from home but we shall see.

I know what you mean, I'm in bed pretty much the whole day atm. I've decided I'm going to take this week off work as I'm a teacher and there is no way I could do my job like this!
