Over the course of a week I've had blood loss and cramping every other day. After seeing out of hours gp was referred to early pregnancy clinic (was expecting to be told I'd miscarried) but there was a heartbeat and a moving blob on the screen!!

Since then I've had more bleeding, cramping and on Friday past loss of clear fluid (approx two inches by one and a half inches, of pants wet by clear fluid when I went to the bathroom to check). It wasn't sweat or urine. It was situated where blood lands when period arrives. Rightly or wrongly I didn't go back to epc as dc1 was napping and it was an hour before the clinic closed, and to be honest I didn't think going in a rush would change the outcome at this early stage of a pregnancy.

Since then I've had pain in my lower abdomin but no more loss of fluid or blood. Reading this now, I know it looks really stupid not to have gone back to the epc already. My next planned appointment to see them is next week (to check if pregnancy continuing after initial bleeding). Really don't know what to expect. A lot of me expects to be told miscarriage. Some of me (very occasionally over yesterday and today) has "felt pregnant". I really just don't know.

So I know I'm not going to be diagnosed by posting on mn. But I guess I just wanted to ask if anything like this has happened to anyone else? And what was your outcome?

It could be normal vaginal discharge. I had a lot while I was pg, felt like I was peeing myself a few times as it was so thin it felt like water

Lower abdominal pain can be fairly normal too, as ligaments stretch and things move about inside to make room for the growing uterus. So it doesn't always have to indicate bad news

As to going back, you're right in that rushing there won't change the outcome. If you feel comfortable with waiting, I'd wait until your appointment next week. If you want the reassurance of having a scan to find out what is happening I'd call in the morning and ask if it can be brought forward

Thanks, I appreciate your feedback. But at the time I didn't think it was vaginal discharge (I have been having lots of extra during pregnancy, but usually thick and lumpy). Also, sorry again for tmi, it dried "hard" onto my pants. I've never had that with sweat, urine or vaginal discharge before.

That's interesting to hear someone else has had vaginal discharge that was thin like water. Do you mind if I ask if it dried on hard to material? or just dried up?, like sweat would

I had watery discharge throughout my pregnancy, one of the times is soaked through to my jeans, consultant said it was one of those weird pregnancy things that they couldn't explain as doesn't happen with everyone. Hope all is ok when you have your appointment next week, I'd call tomorrow though to see if they can see you earlier.
