when to have first scan, very nervous

Today I see my MW for the first time since BFP, last cycle possibly on Feb 25th but as I was on the pill and somehow got pregnant, its hard to tell as I sometimes miss a cycle or have super light ones. I am normally a person with a cycle that lasts less than 24 hours anyway, pill or no pill. Just lucky I guess.
Last year we had awful septic missed mc and going in to numerous hospital scans to see baby with no heartbeat etc was absolutely devastating.
My MW will give me a referral for a dating scan today and I can choose to use that within the next week or 2, obviously the sooner the better.
Problem is I don't want to do it before a heartbeat is possible, i.e 6 to 7 weeks. I have to time it so hubby and I can go together around our crazy work commitments.
I don't just want to see a yolk sac and have to go back again.
But I know once I have the referral in my hot little hands that the temptation to just ring up and book asap will be very hard to resist.
I should/could be 5 weeks on March 31st.

The wait is hard but trying to be calm, positive and relaxed. BFP's have all been darker and darker and I have pregnancy symptoms.
So worried baby will not be ok as another mc is just a horrible sadness for us.

I work as an Auryvedic caterer and chef, writer and editor and all my training tells me that I know the answers..ie meditate, yoga, my diet is flawless etc etc but all the same my nerves are trying their best to break me down.

Going to try my best to hang on until April 8th for my scan..I should be 6 weeks 2 days but even that may not guarantee a heartbeat if baby is healthy.

Wait as long as you can would be my advice. Sadly, there's probably not much that can be done if you are MC in those early weeks. If you are able to wait, you are much more likely to see a viable baby.

The signs look good for you from what you say, I will be keeping fx all is well.

not sure what kind of pregnancy hormones I was on but have no choice about scanning times lol
MW just laughed , in a good way and set me straight.
Having first scan asap, in a day or 2 then second one in 2 weeks

Talk about letting go of control!

I feel almost silly but at the same time very nervous.
I love the Utopia of being pregnant and not having to find out a single thing but
will have to just go along and see if baby is ok.
That's important

When you have had a mc nothing will stop you being nervous throughout your pregnancy, until the baby is is my arms I won't stop worrying I don't think! I had my first scan at 9 weeks as I want to 'see' something and I knew the odds reduced slightly after that milestone and he was there a little blob with a heartbeat which we could hear. I then felt it wasn't too long to wait before the 12 week scan which I was equally nervous for even though I had symptoms. I got incredibly nervous again before my 20 week scan, as I had no symptoms (as naturally you feel better and you're in the limbo of no movement). Now I take reassurance in movements.

You are right, it is out of your hands and no amount of worrying can stop anything in the early stages. Hope all goes well!

yes very true, almost in tears at thought of a scan, most ladies would be so much looking forward to it. Don't even want to look at the screen until I hear someone say its ok.
Really need to try relax. Been a tough afternoon, filling my head with memories from last mc.

How many weeks are you now?

delaying scan until next week.
just can't face doing it before then.
