Hi All,

my last MP was 9/2/16, making me roughly 6 weeks 3days Pregnant.
Previously i've had 4 miscarriages followed by an ectopic then i managed to carry and have my son.( Now 19 months)
I went for an early scan on Tuesday ( 6 weeks) to check pregnancy was in correct place and viability.
I saw the pregnancy ( yolk sac) but no Fetal pole or Heartbeat was present but my previous pregnancy i had all that by 6 weeks so im a little worried.
I still feel sick ( throughout the day) and have sore/sensitive nipples, lower backache ( NO bleeding)
Next scan booked for 5/4/16

Has anyone been in this position? If so what has your outcome been?
As much as i want to be positive i need to emotionally prepare myself also.

Thanks Ladies

Really thinking of you at this tough time to wait.
you may have ovulated later and so be actually 5 weeks and a few days
try get blood tests to show hcg levels...need at least 2 a few days apart to show an increase/decrease.
Had mc last year...but I am now nearly 5 weeks and have my early scan next week....so nervous

I had a scan last week at 6+3- but the nurse made it very clear beforehand that we are talking about something that is roughly doubling in size every day and the heart itself is the size of a poppyseed. We did see a heartbeat but If we had been there the day before may not have seen it so please don't give up hope. 6 weeks is really very early.

Please don't give up hope...I had an early scan (5-6 weeks) be aside of previous ectopic and I was bleeding, we couldn't see anything on the scan....2 weeks later all was clear as day.
But the waiting is so hard...thinking of you X

I had something very similar. Convinced myself something was wrong, but scan 2 weeks later showed heart beat. He's now 8 months old. Good luck

Thank you all, has given Me some hope.
I'm hoping the feeling sick is a positive sign too, I think the nurse who saw me after the scan was very negative too she didn't have a positive bone in her body. Xx

My lmp is the same and I had a scan Saturday then Monday. The yolk sac was way clearer even between those scans. My next scan is next Friday and the sonographer wasn't in the least bit concerned, she said I probably didn't ovulate on the day I thought. I've also got symptoms. please try not to worry x

I had a very similar experience with my DS at 6 +1. He was officially "inconclusive" as no heartbeat. He was also apparently measuring only 5 + 6. Sonographer was reasonably reassuring to me, but DH quizzed her when I was getting changed, and I could hear her saying that their equipment is very accurate, so my dates must be off as there should be visable heartbeat at 6 + 1. (The dates definitely weren't). Upon further quizzing, it turns out that the size difference for a couple of days was less than a mm!!!

Anyway, after a horrible morning sickness filled couple of weeks, DS was measuring on track, with a perfect heartbeat at 8 weeks. He is now 5 years old.

Bottom line, NHS ultrasound equipment is cr*p. If you can afford it, pay for a private scan rather than waiting. If not, try not to worry. I did loads of googling, and all said that the heart only just starts to form, then beat around 6 weeks ish. Lots of docs (esp in the US) are now not recommending viability ultrasounds until around 8 weeks due to how inconclusive they can be until then.

Sausagema, thank you! I'm really hoping its all well, I would love my son to have a little brother or sister.
He was a miracle himself so hoping my body has learnt what to do since him. X

This was me 2 weeks ago. Early scan at 6 +2, yolk sac found and perhaps a foetal pole and heartbeat but no one certain. I'm being scanned again on Tuesday. I'm feeling v tired and have constant nausea so I'm keeping everything crossed.
Longest 2 weeks of my life though. Good luck.

not good that the nurse was negative...how horrible for you after your previous mc's....she has issues! just keep on believing and I really do hope all will be well xxx
2 days until I see mw and will then have dating scan referral but don't know how to cope with actually going into sonographers as haunted by previous mc...baby really really wanted.

the sonographers ( one did external and second assisted internal) also didn't seem very knowledgeable, kept asking how far along i thought i was and at one point looked really confused so i said 'are my insides confusing you' and the reply was 'Yea just a bit' ......then the nurse i saw said to come back in two weeks and see if its viable and asked if i had my previous miscarriages investigated.....she kept pulling a face of sympathy and i was just distraught!

Sodachick, its not easy but hopefully all will be well, it is difficult to be positive all the time xx

I am seeing midwife today (different time zone to you :) )
So your scan is April 5th?
Really hope all will be well for you.
I get my scan referral today and then can use that at any time I like within the next week or 2 but yeah...will try hold out as long as possible. Might be around April 5th too! Depends when I can make it to sonographer with hubby.
Nervous but excited too xxx

I am about 2 weeks behind you then...lol...might have to wait longer than April 5th now as I would only be 5 weeks 5 days then. Going to try either wait until April 8th onward or just have 2 scans. One very soon and then wait 2 weeks to check for viability and continuing pregnancy. Will have to discuss that with my midwife..3 hours until my appt. Excited xxx

not sure what kind of pregnancy hormones I was on but have no choice about scanning times lol
MW just laughed , in a good way and set me straight.
Having first scan asap, in a day or 2 then second one in 2 weeks

Talk about letting go of control!
