Hi Ladies, i'm just curious to know how other mumsnetters who have a high anterior placenta feel movements.
I am currently 27 weeks pregnant and I do feel movement, generally kicks to either side and the baby just moving to the front but no kicks.
Just interested in anyones elses experience with this.

Not sure if it is high or not but I have an anterior placenta. I still feel lots of movements, mainly at the top of the bump and off to one side where the limbs are. Once baby gets big bits are bound to stick out. I had a posterior placenta last time and still seem to feel the same amount of movement

Im 38.5wks and have an upper anterior placenta - the movements thing has been a struggle really - to be honest, i have had to pay much more attention to them than in my first pregnancy because whilst I can feel movements they are not as pronounced as the massive kicks I got with my son (as they are being absorbed by the placenta which acts like a cushion for them). I went in for a 32wk scan and the sonographer could barely scan the baby it was moving so much yet i couldn't feel it moving at all! I have had to be very careful because i can't feel much BUT the hospital told me NEVER to assume that if I haven't felt movement it's because of the placenta... they said they'd much rather i come in if i was worried as it was no bother to put me on a doppler and double check... when i was busy at work (now on ML so more time to notice it), i could go a whole day and not notice movement, and as soon as I got home I'd have to drink something ice cold and start to really pay attention to it... certainly an added stress! Sorry i can't be more helpful!

I'm 26 weeks and have a high anterior placenta, and have been able to feel the baby since 18 weeks. It started off as quite hard, definite kicks, and now I can feel a whole range of strong to subtle movements from kicking/poking to rolling. I can also see the movements under my skin. I am pretty small, though, with low body fat, so I don't know if that makes a difference?

I do notice that when I am lying on my side at night, I feel very strong movements kicking through my side against the mattress - sometimes these are so strong that I have to change position because it freaks me out! I wonder if the movements would all feel much stronger at the front, too, if the placenta wasn't in the way. I've got to say that if that is the case, I'm not ungrateful for the anterior placenta!

Another high anterior placenta over here! 24 weeks and have been feeling baby properly since about 20 weeks but only low down. Kicks are mostly below my belly button and around my knicker line, just this morning I felt the first movement higher up but I would have definitely missed it if I wasn't just sat on the sofa.Interested to see how things progress as baby gets bigger!
