Does anyone know if caesarians will still go ahead during the strikes? Starting to panic a bit.....

Why? Do you have a section planned? Or are you thinking in case of emergency?

I have one planned - for one of the planned strike dates sad

I would give the department a call - presumably it's consultants who do c-sections though and they are not on strike?

Ring to find out.

They will be seeking to avoid scheduling any procedure on strike days, but if a strike day comes up when procedures are already booked they may try to move those by one or two days if there are available slots.

But elective sections 'count' as things that have to go ahead (because the timing of childbirth isn't something which can be totally planned in the first place, nor can they overload the adjacent days) and so you may well find it'll happen as currently booked.

If you're on the list to be done by your consultant themself, then it's likely there'll be no change.
