Pregnancy

Reassurance needed please - anyone NOT had symptoms but still had successful pregnancy?

Hello everyone!

I'm 6 weeks pregnant. Had 2 mc's last year and keeping everything crossed this is 3rd time lucky.

I know it's still early but I have hardly any symptoms. I've had sore nips which are actually not so sore now, perhaps a whiff of nausea one or two days but so slight I've convinced myself I imagined it, and I woke up last night soaked in sweat. None of it feels very strong.

At this stage with previous pregnancies I felt strong nausea, major tiredness (so bad I would be in bed as soon as DH got in from work at 6.30!) and extreme hunger and thirst.

Not having any symptoms now is ringing alarm bells and making me a bit anxious.

I have heard people can sail through without any symptoms and I also keep in mind even with all those symptoms before I miscarried, so trying not to base strength of a pregnancy on it. But it would be comforting to hear a few mumsnetters who have had no symptoms and gone on to have a successful pregnancy GrinFlowersBrewCake

Thank you!

Not me personally, but had a friend who had NO symptoms apart from gaining a little bit of weight.. Literally a little bit of weight

No sickness, no food aversions, no soreness really just a few twinges and a bit of extra boob :)

Has a wonderful daughter who is now 3 years old

Second pregnancy she experienced everything...

Yep! DC1 spent most of first trimester Googling '6 weeks no symptoms', '8 weeks no symptoms'. Didn't ever have much - apart from eventual bump - to speak of until dreaded SPD. Hang in there and distract, distract, distract - hard, I know.

And congrats! Flowers

I had mild symptoms come and go through first trimester. Think I have been sick 3 times during whole pregnancy. Wish the rest had been so easy!
Currently 37+5

Hi Lucia, congratulations on the BFP!

I was given some advice along the lines of every single pregnancy is different (ie not just that every woman experiences pregnancy differently).

I had very few symptoms with DC1 and felt well throughout, so it isn't necessarily a bad sign. Now pregnant for the second time I feel much worse than last time (but still don't have symptoms every day. I am also spotting a bit, which didn't happen at all last time). I hope it all goes well for you xx

Do you have any children already?
My first pg was a mmc and I have never felt so exhausted as I was that time round. (I now have two children.)
My 2 pg were very different. One boy. One girl. Coincidence?

My last pregnancy all the symptoms I had were slightly sore boobs and I was a bit more tired for the first and last trimester. Spd kicked in at 29 weeks ruining my plain sailing. I remember googling pregnant no symptoms too.

Thank you all Flowers

dat I have been doing exactly the same and googling '6 weeks no symptoms'!! Heads in a tizz.

wolfie I have one DS and with him I had mild nausea and vomited twice between 5-7 weeks. That was it. My 2nd pregnancy (mc at 11.5 weeks) I felt as sick as a dog pretty much from day I got my BFP. I was never sick but had constant nausea only relieved by eatin, and an insatiable hunger. I also felt so incredibly tired - an exhaustion I've never felt before or since. It was awful. (My 3rd pregnancy was a mc at 4.5 so incredibly early and I mc'd days after BFP so no symptoms at that stage).

I've been trying to reassure myself that compared to my 2nd pregnancy this is feeling better and perhaps this is a 'good' pregnancy and it will be ok. But I still worry.

Really good to hear good stories from u all, thanks so much Smile

Lucinda why don't you join us on the October 2016 antenatal group thread? Under pregnancy then antenatal clubs, sorry can't link on phone! I've been asking the same today and had some very reassuring advice from the lovely ladies on there. I'm 5 weeks today with no 2 and also have a distinct lack of symptoms apparently it's quite normal!

Lucinda - I have had almost zero symptoms. The only thing i have bow at 25 weeks is a kicking baby and heartburn.

Both times I have sailed through the first trimester and have googled the no symptoms thing.

Fingers crossed your just one of the lucky ones!

My only symptoms were no AF, boobs slightly bigger (friend noticed more than I did) and slightly thickening through my waist and by about 12 weeks needing to pee more

OhShutUpThomas · 24/02/2016 07:29

The first symptoms I had with DS were no periods and then a bump appearing around 25 weeks. Literally nothing else until then.

DC2 was a different matter....!

Ps - now 14 weeks with DC3 - had some nausea at the start but now no symptoms again. Put on a bit of weight but that's it really.

First 2 were both healthy babies, this one apparently looked ok at 12 week scan. Try not to worry.

Another one with minimal symptoms in my first pregnancy - sailed through the 1st trimester just feeling a bit sleepy occasionally, it wasn't until about 24 weeks that heartburn, backache and swelling hit me. I'm 12 weeks again now and it's been completely different - nausea for weeks, no appetite for days on end, overwhelming tiredness, hives... every pregnancy is different - keeping everything crossed that this is just a symptom free one for you

I didn't have any symptoms until 8 weeks, and then it was only occasional nausea and sore breasts. I didn't know I was pregnant until I was over 5 weeks gone, came as a complete surprise (we'd just finished our investigations at the fertility clinic, I did the test the day before the follow up appointment with the consultant!). I'm at 18 weeks now, fingers crossed for the 20 week scan - I was petrified until the 8 week scan though, I was doing a lot of tests just to make sure I was still/actually pregnant!

No symptoms, apart from sore boobs intermittently from 8 weeks, a couple of days being sore then a week of nothing and the occasional spell of nausea, I now have a 9 month old DD.

Wait until the constipation hits at 10 weeks and you weep and curse at having made this thread Grin

I had nothing in the first tri apart from some mild constipation. Second tri was MAJOR constipation (which eased about 18 weeks)/ bloating, and sinus trouble, which I think I'm going to have until birth now.

But no sickness, no particularly odd cravings, I was a late shower/ baby has been a late kicker, and yes, I did worry too Smile

No symptoms AT ALL for both pregnancies apart from some heartburn later on.
DD has just turned 13 and DS is 10 :)

Fingers-crossed it's all fine for you.
