Which bra do you recommend?

Hi ladies, I just found out I'm pregnant and I don't have any mummy friends to ask what kind of bra do I need to buy for pregnancy? My breasts are already very painful and growing, I feel like I'm going to be buying a new size every week at this rate... Is there a bra that expands? What brand is best? What features should I look for when shopping? Thanks for your advice.

Emma jayne maternity and nursing bras are SO comfy once you can't do underwire and only a tenner a pop.

Until then I'd wait and see how big your boobs get and buy bigger sizes as they grow!

Hi, I asked this recently. Although I asked about second trimester, the responses are good for any stage of pregnancy.

I ordered a carriway bra which arrived today, which is comfy and surprisingly supportive, but it does come up really high on my chest and does a weird little bunching thing at the front. Other than that, I'm happy with it for wearing under high cut clothing.

I also ordered the topshop vests someone recommended, but they haven't arrived yet. I can let you know my verdict when they do!

I always loved the Anita flexi wire maternity/ nursing bras which you can get at Figleaves. I didn't like wearing a non wired bra.

I love the Bravado Bodysilk - its non wired, reasonably supportive and is sized small/med/large so great for changing shape. I have 2 smalls and a medium and wore to death through 2 pregnancies and then nursing my first - now wearing to nurse my 2 week old. I also have a flex wire number for days where I want to be smarter, but these are all specific bra sizes so crap if you are changing size in pregnancy and also crap in the early days of nursing (where my boobs are different sizes before/after a feed.)
