Last pregnancy all I wanted was apples could eat 8 in a day.

This time I can't get sugar off my mind, my lovely husband has just brought me some cakes home from the local bakery Grin

Could be a girl if your craving sweet stuff..old wives tales and such.

My first sugar fiend was a girl. She had a thing for kit kats, shes still got a sweet tooth. It remains to be seen what bits this one has got but it definitely likes the sweet stuff, or maybe that's just what I want to eat when I feel like hell?

Was talking to friends today about craving sugar and a couple of them craved sugar and had girls.

Only 2 weeks and I'm booked in for a scan to find out the sex Grin we have a son so a girl would be a nice addition

My cravings were milk and ice cubes. I'd go through a 2kg bag of ice cubes in a day or two! Blush in my defence I was due end of August just gone so was heavily pregnant in the heatwaves!! I used to drink 3 pints of milk a day!

With DS 1 it was vanilla - ice cream / custard etc
This time it's anything sharp - oranges / apples / tomatoes and olives - omg so so many olives!
I am eating a lot of sugar though - cakes and chocolate - apparently craving salty food like olives is your body trying to balance out excess sugar oops!

Hoping the novelty of sugar will wear off in a few weeks, or I will be double the size I was in my last pregnancy

With DS my cravings were all savoury.. burgers, sausage rolls, anything carby & covered in salt. Oh and cheese. I felt it was my duty to him to give in & eat whatever 'he' wanted Wink

I sometimes have cravings for a few days then they go away again, but throughout my pregnancy I've been obsessed with crisps! It was original hula hoops, then sea salt & balsamic vinegar kettle chips, & now it's wotsits. I feel bad for eating crisps every day, but then eat an apple or something so I feel I've balanced it out!

Grapes! Crunchy black grapes! I could eat a bunch a day but I've had to have a word with myself due to all the sugar they actually contain.

Also fruit in general really. But gone off chocolate big time, coffee and tea.

I'm thinking if I walk the dog it will balance out all the jelly babies

The thing I'm really off is meat and sandwiches. I had sandwich aversion last time though it did fade with time but the meat thing this time is weird, it doesn't make me queasy or anything. I just really don't fancy it at all. Had steak tonight and after a few mouthfuls I just didn't want to eat it. Sausages, burgers, steak just...nope. I'm normally quite a carnivore!

Report
Everythinggettingbigger · 24/02/2016 08:43

Pickled I was the opposite in my first pregnancy, I didn't eat meat until I was pregnant and got a sudden craving for sausages (specifically cut up into pieces and dipped in tomato sauce!) and that was it I couldn't get enough of meat from then on....my DS is now 5 and I have been quite the carnivore too......got to about 16 weeks in this pregnancy (now 27+1) and went totally off meat, just really didn't fancy it at all! strange that isn't it!

I'm 17 weeks and want stodgy carbs like jacket potato and cheese, and puddings with custard. Lad pregnancy it was shoe polish and extra strong mints so a step up! Grin
