My brother's partner developed ulcerative colitis while pregnant.

I have crohn's so similar, hopefully it will go into remission whilst pregnant. Hope you're keeping ok

Mine seems to be playing up at the moment (am 9+3).

It wakes me up in the morning with lots of discomfort and usually griping pain.

Annoying as I don't medicate for mine, haven't for years, but it's really doing my head in at the moment.

I'm currently 9 weeks with Crohns. Got the Crohns diagnosis 5 days after my BFP so it has been a really stressful pregnancy so far. I don't know much about all the medications as they're reluctant to medicate me until 20weeks as I'm currently in remission. However they did say that 1/3 of people will be worse in pregnancy and it's probably best going getting checked out as the risk of having active disease is worse than the risks of taking medication during the pregnancy.
I hope it all settles down for you and we can have stress free pregnancies.

I have UC and currently 8 wks with DC2. During my first pregnancy I had just come out of a major flare so was advised to continue my medication throughout pregnancy which I did.

Since then I have had to have most of my colon removed and have a stoma. I found out just before my bfp that the small bit of colon they didn't remove is very inflamed so I'm taking suppositories which are really helping.

I hated taking strong medication in first pregnancy but all experts advised that the drugs were safer than the risk of a flare.

I found last time mine was most niggly at the start of pregnancy (when everyone feels bloated and constipated!) and at the end when baby was putting pressure on everything! But it really wasn't that bad and I hope you all have a similar or better experience.

I was also really well after giving birth but interestingly went downhill as soon as I stopped breastfeeding. It's a very strange disease that seems to affect people in very different ways!

Long term Crohns and 25+1. I'm in remission but chances of flare during or after pregnancy are high so docs keeping close eye on me. Continuing meds throughout. Why are you not taking medication to manage your UC?

I'm getting two extra scans because of my UC.
