Cracking mid-back and rib pain

I had pretty bad rib flare in my last pregnancy but this time it seems to be going all the way round my right hand side and to the middle of my back too... aching and stabbing pains. Constant.

It's making me bloody miserable and I don't know if there's anything I can do to relieve it - has anyone else had the same and found something that helped? I'm 35 weeks. Have tried some pregnancy yoga moves but nothing seems to shift it at all.

I had it around the same stage and I didn't seem able to get rid of it, but it did subside after a week or so. Try regular Paracetamol? I did lots of the spinning babies moves too, to try and get baby into a good position - whether that helped? You have my sympathy anyway, as it was bloody painful.

Thanks - did you know your baby wasn't in an optimal position? This really flared up after a big movement where I felt baby might have shifted, was head down at last check a few days beforehand. I don't want to move baby OUT of a good position by doing spinning babies moves, if that's possible!

I had no idea what position my baby was in - though it felt like baby was trying to stretch out and pushing against my rib cage, but the idea of the spinning babies moves is to get baby into the optimum position for birth - so I doubt it can make anything worse.
I also did lots of bouncing on a gym ball - baby came a week early which I was really grateful for as it really felt like there wasn't enough room in there for baby. One night at around 38 weeks, I couldn't even lie down as little knees were sticking out so far I thought I was going to hurt baby by lying on either side - I spent and hour on hands and knees trying to get baby to move so that I could lie down!

Good idea re: gym ball, haven't inflated mine yet. My maternity jeans feel too tight around the bottom of my bump now as well so it's leggings and yoga pants for the next 5 weeks or so for me (sob!). I will also look at the spinning babies site again.

Yes my baby feels very "sideways" if that makes sense, like the bump sticks out a lot more at the sides than it was doing a week or so ago.

I'm kind of hoping baby will come early or at least on time... I could do with some time off work beforehand as have very little sorted, but the thought of another 7 weeks of feeling this knackered and huge isn't massively appealing!
