Has this happened to anyone else and is this 'normal'.

I've recently had a couple of tiny, paper cut type cuts down below. Does anyone know why this might be happening or if it's something I need to be concerned about? I'm having a real panic about it. Please help!

Please don't panic, pregnancy can cause vaginal dryness, that can result in small cuts/tears.

Mention to your midwife if you are still worried, but I personally wouldn't be.

Awww thank you!!! Anything strange down there just panics me and it is also causing me a little bit of discomfort. If it doesn't improve, I think I'll mention at my next appointment. The joys of being pregnant!! Lol. Thanks for your reply :)

Your welcome.

I had the same when pregnant with ds1. Although mine was linked to thrush. My midwife told me to use a bit of canesten to help with discomfort.

Don't suffer unnecessarily, when do you next see your midwife?

I'm 23 weeks today but I have my 24 week appointment booked for a week late, so 25 weeks! Think I'll ring in the morning and ask to have it brought forward. I actually think there's a slight chance it could be thrush related! I've had thrust before and not had much in the way of symptoms like itchiness (sorry tmi)! Thank you for your advice! It's much appreciated Smile

Sounds like a good idea giving them a ring.

Again, your welcome! I was terribly anxious when pregnant, it's all those hormones that make you feel vulnerable.

Congratulations btw, I hope you get it all sorted quickly. Smile

Oh god!!!! Confused You think you know it all after the random ailments that pregnancy hits you with the first time, then you get pregnant again only to find out it's going to hit you with another 9 months worth of completely different things to worry about!! Defo going to get my appointment moved! For some reason, I feel better talking to a midwife about this than the GP! Fingers crossed I just need to slap on some cream or something Blush

This is a strange symptom of thrush! Ask your midwife or GP to take a swab and for some treatment. Don't be embarrassed it's actually really common

I third (?) to get checked and treated for thrush. Common in pregnancy and can cause little splits like that.

I think it's something to do with hormones making the tissues a bit thin. I had this where even wiping would cause little splits at times. It improved when my ds was about 6mo and not bf so much.

Did you manage to speak to midwife. I've got little cuts and mine is definitely thrush. They are really sore!
