Hi I am nearly 16 weeks pregnant this is my 3rd pregnancy I have a retroverted uterus which I have been told twice and this week I'm weakening up urge to wee but can't sitting squating trying everything and I can only release a bit to take pressure off. It wasn't too bad last week I'd wait about 20/30 min and eventually go but tonight it's been hours trying to go standing over the toilet and releasing a bit at a time 😁😁 to relieve pressure. Anyone else have this problem at this stage ??? And should I go get it checked tomorrow?

I had this in pregnancy. I don't want to scare you but you may want to consider making a visit to hospital. I had to have a catheter for a few days to help me. It's not good to leave it unchecked. Eventually as my baby grew bigger I was able to see again.

The pain had gone cause it's releasing a bit. I'm suppose to be up for work at 6.30 but think I may call in and just go to Coombe instead 😁😁 . I was about 15 weeks. My obstetrician said it usually happens between around 15 and 18 weeks. It last about a week for me.

I didn't stay overnight in hospital, they checked my kidneys and bladder and checked for infection. They also gave me a catheter.

I am not a doc but I would get to hospital as soon as you can.

Honestly, thinking about it I would get to the hospital now. Can your husband stay at home with kids while you go in?

The sooner you can go to hospital the better. What is likely to happen: chat, examine tummy, quick scan (there and then with handheld machine), blood tests. If bladder is full after you have tried to wee then you will need a catheter. Once bladder drained you'll feel much better. Providing you don't drain too much and your blood tests are ok, then you'll likely be shown how to look after it and sent home again with a follow up appointment. If you don't get it sorted you risk stopping peeing altogether, which will rapidly become very uncomfortable, and then you'll be in pain whilst waiting to be sorted out. There is also a risk to the kidneys if you leave it a long time (though less likely in your case).
Of course it might be a urine infection, but you need to be scanned to be sure. hope you get sorted nice and quickly.

Hi guys thanks so much for all the device. Stood up in the shower this morning and it emptied out but terrified it will happen again tonight so I'm goin to leave work early this evening and go in when it's quiet pain gone for now and sensation but every time it happens it's worse I'm getting with it and crying with the urge and pain. I'll let you know how I get on this evening thanks a mill. I also have a cervical scan on Friday for suspected shortened uterus so I will def be goin in later xx

Please make sure you go to the hospital as soon as you can. I speak from experience, it's not something you should ignore. Even if your bladder is emptying you may be holiding onto some urine and, as I understand it, this can affect the kidneys. My obstetrician told me it is not something to ignore. I won't lecture any more... Smile good luck at the hospital and with your pregnancy.

So glad to hear they are looking after you. And I can promise you, you're not being a fool. This is not the sort of thing you ignore. People go to hospital for far less. Good luck and wishing you all the best with your pregnancies.
