Hello, first post so hope I'm doing this right. I am a little concerned but have no way of getting a test til tomorrow so looking for advice and reassurance.

I am 27, I have 2 sons aged 8 and 3. I was diagnosed in July 2014 with endometriosis. I had a coil fitted the day I was diagnosed via laparoscopy. Gradually my periods became more regulated and by July 2015 they where regular and very mild. Since July I have consistently started my period between the 8th and 10th of the month and the bleeding has been very light and lasted only a day (a very pleasent change to the constant heavy bleeding before my diagnosis!). I had my regular period in December (the 8th-9th) as usual then a very random heavy bleed on the 15th of that month, and nothing at all since. I thought nothing of it until Friday when I realised I was was nearly 2 weeks late and was experiencing a little sickness and mildly tender breasts. I've spent all last night and this morning in extreme pain on my right side, with odd shoulder pain too. The pain is slightly reminiscent of the pain I had while suffering a miscarriage in early 2012 but I have had no bleeding whatsoever.

Is it possible to start missing periods after this long with the coil (mirena) or could I be pregnant and there are complications because of the coil? Any help or advice would be appreciated so much!

When I had the mirena my periods became irregular and tailed off to nothing.
I also have mild endo which caused one-sided pain in the past when I had the mirena.

Seems very unlikely you are pregnant if mirena is in place. But why not tale a test to be sure.

Pain on one side and shoulder pain can be symptomatic of ectopic pregnancy. I'd probably go to A&E today (I'm not usually one for melodrama). I've a feeling the coil can increase risk of ectopic pregnancy.

I have stage 4 endometriosis so I was very dubious too as to whether or not I would be pregnant, but I think for my own peace of mind I would have to take the test. Reading the leaflets too I'd like to be sure! I may try and get out for a cheap test today and see what happens. I'd love to be pregnant as I've been trying to convince my other half since the summer to try again, but all the complications a coil can present makes me very nervous! Thanks ladies, will keep you posted xx

OP, you're not listening. Shoulder pain is a symptom of ectopic pregnancy which is a very serious and potentially fatal condition. It is more likely in women with coils. Call 111 immediately.

Get checked out immediately. You have symptoms consistent with ectopic pregnancy, which can be life-threatening.

I would recommend you do a test ASAP and if it's positive go to A&E. I've had an ectopic and was lucky enough to avoid having to have a tube removed but it's so important to be seen quickly.

I have endometriosis too and one of my monthly symptoms is arm pain in right arm. It's agonising and gets to the point where I can't lift my arm up. So yes it could be symptoms of ectopic pregnancy, but it could also be an endo flare up.
