40+3 as of today and going insane... feels like little DS is never going to come haha... does anyone know statistically how likely he is to be born over the next couple of days?

:)

I was told by the midwife that on average, 1st babies are born at 40+6. No idea if it's true, but that's when DS was born (not by my dates, which made him 40+1).

In any event, not long now!! Good luck! It goes by extremely quickly, take lots of pics!!

My first ds was born at 40+6! I went into labour 2 days before though.
My advice, put your feet up and enjoy the peace!

I was also 40+6...didn't know that was the average.

Try and enjoy these last few days where you have to do nothing except tell people your overdue and watch the look of fear in their eyes. Shop assistants move a lot faster if they think your going to go into labour their and then 😉

I had DD at 40+12. I agree with running that scaring shop assistants is the most fun you can have!

I remember going to order a carpet for the nursery at a week overdue. The conversation went like so:
Assistant: I bet you want this in before the baby is due, don't you?
Me: You'd struggle, that was last week.
Assistant: Shock
Me: Grin

My first was born at 42+2. Try not to get hung up on the actual due date
