Thing to do before baby arrives

I am only 24 weeks but starting to get tired again. What things should I do before my first child arrives. I was thinking along the lines of going to the cinema lots rather than cleaning the kitchen cupboards.

Depends on what you can afford - if you have spare cash then go to the theatre and cinema, and out for meals.
But it depends upon if you're going to have help nearby once the baby arrives, too. Some of my friends with small children still get out once a week or so a

As they have childcare on tap. Whereas we've been to the theatre once and the cinema perhaps three times in the last three years.
If it were me having that time again I'd go to gym classes, I'd do lots of big walks and pub lunches, I'd get my hair done close to the due date, and I'd meet up with friends in the evening for coffee/wine (even if I was on the lime and soda!)
I'd also make time to rest. I really miss lazy weekend mornings just reading the paper and lounging around, and can't imagine when that might next happen!

Have a good hair cut that is easy to manage once baby arrives.
Batch cook and freeze your favourite meals - sorry thats a boring idea but a good one all the same.

DH and I had a night away at a hotel, lovely dinner (checked the menu wasn't full of things off-limits during pregnancy!) and even yummier cooked breakfast, and I had a pregnancy massage. Really good to have some quality time together. I also had a day out in London and afternoon tea with a very dear friend.

Agree about enjoying lazy weekend mornings, you can keep them to a certain extent with one newborn (just an extra little person to snuggle!) but definitely not with a toddler who's wide awake from the get go!

You might not want to bother with household things but don't put them off too long! We started preparing the nursery around 20 weeks and have had SO many problems with mothercare furniture delivery that now (at 39 WEEKS!) we still don't have sorted - If you think you're tired now it only gets harder! I didn't think a wardrobe could make me cry
More on what you're thinking - DH and I have been planning as many meals out/date nights as we can before next week!

Nice things we did towards the end of our first pregnancy were dinners out, decorating the nursery and cinema. Couldnt do any of them when pg with dc2.

I found the best thing towards the end was an evening bubble bath. The bottles of radox I used to go through!!

Sleep. Sleep. Sleep. I can't recommend sleeping enough. Go to bed early, have lie ins, eat breakfast in bed, watch films and just fill up on sleep. I cannot explain just how much I miss uninterrupted slumber now my baby has arrived.

Lie in!! Wake up, roll over and go back to sleep, get up at 11am/12pm. I've daydreamed about that for 3 years now..

Go on holiday! If you have a hobby then keep enjoying it and enjoy the peace and quiet!

Lie ins, weekend breaks, cinema, gigs, theatre, eating out etc whatever you can afford.

Don't worry about the house stuff. My ds is 10 weeks and still doesn't have a nursery and he's never needed one. Also nesting will sort out the cleaning.

Thanks for all the lovely ideas. I am sorting out the boring bit too but wanted to make sure I don't waste my time. I would love a proper beach holiday but there is no time so I am looking at somewhere in the UK for a couple of nights.
