Pregnancy

Could I be pregnant?

My partner and I have been together 9 months and have always had unprotected sex but I've never conceived with him. I started to take the contreceptive pill in November and 2 weeks in from taking it, I started bleeding 10 days early so I stopped taking it. I've now missed my period in December and have been spotting since the end of November, my stomach has also gone hard like it would if I was on my period and it's been like this also from November, I've taken 3 pregnancy test and all have come out negative. I've also experienced stomach cramps but no bleeding or period. I've had discharge for a few days and I don't really get this much, can anyone help?

The 3 NEGATIVE tests tell me that you ARE pregnant. Congratulations!

Negative tests would tend to indicate that you're not pregnant. Might it be an idea to stop having unprotected sex until you definitely have a period, and then start again after that so you know what's going on?

Go see your doctor. If the pregnancy tests are coming back negative but you still don't have your period then get it checked out.

And you seriously need some sexual health advice. Unless you are actively trying to conceive or contract an STI, then you need to use contraception and condoms. Also, what made you stop taking the pill just because your period came early? Starting oral contraceptives can mess with your cycle when you first start taking it.

3 negative tests would indicate you are not pregnant, but if you took them 2 weeks ago then take another one now to rule it out for definite.

Excess discharge could come from ovulation.

I've also read on the internet that you can have fake negatives, so I'll take a new pregnancy test next week if nothing has happened, I stopped taking the pill because it didn't work.

Your poor body will be wondering what on earth is going on! You can't take a contraceptive pill for a short amount of time and then stop taking it without your body reacting somehow. You either have to commit to it and take it responsibly or not take it at all. You can't just dip in and out.
As to whether you are pregnant or not- none of us will have the foggiest idea! Sorry if that sounds a bit harsh. It sounds like you are in a bit of a muddle. Are you actively trying to become pregnant?

How do you know the pill didn't work? If you didn't fall pregnant whilst taking it, it worked!

Sorry I cross posted. I also think you need to visit the doctor for some proper advice about all this. What do you mean about it not working?

I'm sorry if this is stressing you out Thanks

I just found that it wasn't working for me, yes I understand that so I'm not going to commit to it at all, I posted it on here to see if anyone else had the same symptoms? I am very much in a muddle lol. Nope not really, I mean if I was it wouldn't be the end of the world.

It messed my body up, it was doing worse than positive if that makes sense?

If you've been getting negative tests since November the chances of you being pregnant are very slim

I'm making an appointment for the doctors in 2 weeks time as my period is due next week so If nothing has happened then that's when I'll get proper advice. Thankyou for your help :)

I think you have just messed up your cycle by taking the pill for a few weeks and then stopping. Do another preg test/go to the Dr but I think you will probably have to just wait for things to go back to normal.

It's very common with most contraceptives to experience a delay in return of menstruation when the contraception is stopped.

Hi

Myself and my partner have been trying for a baby for 7/8months with no such luck .

Been have abdominal cramps for around about 6/days like period pain but no blood
Took a boots home test today which had a barely noticeable faint line.

Should i wait a few days and wait to see if my period shows up then take another test?

Thank you

Yes, that is exactly what you should do.

A line is a line kelly, so it sounds like you are pregnant. Take another test in a day or two, first thing in the morning, and you will probably get a darker line. Congratulations

Kelly, if you start your own thread you will probably get more help and advice. I would wait until your period is due and then take a test, but a faint line is likely a positive!

CultureSucksDownWords · 08/01/2016 19:15

kelly if you have a faint line (assuming you followed the test instructions and the line appeared within the time limit), then you can assume you're pregnant. It would be a good idea to wait a few days and then do another test to make sure, in the meantime start taking folic acid if you're not already doing so.

Seriously, are we being trolled? People aren't even starting their own threads anymore! I can't decide if that's better or worse ...

It seriously worries me that some people are this ridiculous..

I dunno. When I read these threads I am strongly reminded of the older teenage girls that I used to teach who could be very confused about what much older women would think straightforward.
