37 weeks, is this normal?

I'm 37+1 and I've just had this feeling all week baby would be making an appearance before ELCS on the 21st. Been having really regular strong braxton hicks every evening this week and I've woken up this morning with a really upset tummy, feeling sick, moody, chest pain and crampy pains, baby has also been more quiet than usual.

Is this all normal third trimester grumbles or should I call the Day Assesment Unit?

Call them. Go in to be monitored if your baby has been more quiet than usual. It's probably nothing, but every midwife I've ever seen has always emphasised that you make arrangements to be seen if baby goes quiet.

Baby has moved but just not as much as usual, is that stil cause for concern?

It's the right sides chest pain that's freaking me out most I think!!

Thanks,

Went in for monitoring and they want me to go back daily until Wednesday when they have booked me in for a scan and assume they will discuss bringing my ELCS forward? Very glad I went as they took it very seriously so thank you Smile

I'm glad you went. Did they say why you need daily monitoring? If anything changes at all, if you feel worse or even 'funny' and you can't put your finger on it - go in right away, even if you're due in a few hours for monitoring. Not to put the shits up you but I spent two weeks as an inpatient before my DS was born and saw lots of women who'd saved their babies lives by not putting off getting help. Better to be a nuisance than miss something.

I think it's a combination of my blood pressure, the medication I'm taking, there weren't too many accelerations in babies heart rate (2 in 40 mins) and my bump hasn't grown for over 2 weeks now so think it's precautionary as My list of ailments is ever growing!!
