Maternity sportswear

Could anyone recommend some decent maternity sportswear?

Ideally, one pair of decent over the bump running leggings! Just one!

I've tried the Seraphine active leggings and they're alright, but they are a bit see through and I can't believe that they would stay up if I went for a run so they're being relegated to pilates/ yoga.

The Fittamamma active capris are very good indeed - a bit pricey, but excellent quality and fit. Only complaint from me is that there's no pocket for a key/phone, so I had to tuck that stuff in my top.

I ran to 25 weeks in this pregnancy, with just the one pair of "good" Fittamamma capris and two pairs of Decathlon yoga capris, which tbh were almost as good to run in - and a quarter of the price.

I've just been buying a size up but I did spy some proper maternity running leggings on Lindex recently.

Thanks very much for the recommendations - I'll have a look. M&S totally useless FYI.

The Lindex running tights look great, but are sold out in s and m... So fittamamma it is! I can't believe how little there out there.

I ran to 25 weeks as well - funnily enough a simple pair of Primark capris did the job just fine! I added a Mothercare bump support belt from around 20 weeks too.

Ooh, useful thread, thanks....

Was panicking after Zumba last night that my leggings were uncomfy, will check out the recommendations

I just ordered some fittamamma capris will let you know how they are!

Ran til 22 wks in first pregnancy then it got too uncomfy so stuck to incline walking on treadmill. Bump support helped a little at first but then everything just bounced too much lol!

17 weeks now and bump has POPPED and is so achey so hoping the maternity capris will give more support as running is giving me lots of torso aches!

@Pagetta - are you using oil on your bump to help with the aches? I find it helps to make things more supple. I use a Superdrug own brand one which lasts way longer than Bio Oil.

I've also ordered the fittamamma capris, so will also report back!

Hope I get some decent use out of them... First pregnancy so no idea how long I'll be able to run for but at 16 weeks I'm already too hefty for my old gear. Everything rides up or down!

At 16 weeks I was just wearing Nike Tempo or Adidas M10 shorts low on my hips, but it was a bit warmer then!

Oooh I'm so glad you like them Pagetta! I'll be wearing mine postpartum as well, I think - at least til I get a flat belly back.

I found the lycra in my normal gym leggings stretched over my bump fine until 33 weeks. I've since had a rotten Christmas cold and haven't been to the gym, just going out for walks, but assuming I shift this cold over the weekend I plan to try and squeeze into them again next week (36 weeks). Suspect they may need to sit under the bump rather than over the bump though...But I have some nice long tops that cover everything.

Swimming costume was another matter entirely! I recommend sports direct for cheapy slazenger one. It's done me fine for weeks now and still has its stretch.

I just keep going up sizes in primark capris pulled up over my bump with an elasticated support band. Am 17 weeks and am quite big already (dc2) but its pretty comfy. Hoping to go a few more weeks yet!

Fittmamma capris are very good - the lycra is thick and seems like good quality; also they don't slip down and there's plenty of room to expand I think. You can roll the waistband down, so I think I'll get plenty of use out of them afterwards.

I bought the zoggs women's brighton maternity swimsuit which is half price on Wiggle at the minute and it's great. Very supportive, so actually heaps better than my old cossie.
