Bleeding for 3 weeks first trimester

Has anyone else bled for a long time and had a good outcome?

It's not heavy. Started spotting brown and been constant ever since. Not enough to warrant using a pad until today, and even so it's not as heavy as even a light period.

Have had very few symptoms (8+5 today) and the few I have had have disappeared about a week ago. Have no pain either, just dripping away.

Baby was still there with a heartbeat last Weds. Going to midwife tomorrow but worried about what another scan will reveal.

Thanks in advance for any insights.

All the best for the midwife snarkle. I've had a few episodes of bleeding but baby is fine. They've not been for as long as yours have. If it's still brown and fairly constant then I'd not be s worried s I would if it was heavy, read and full of clots.
Let us know how you get on Flowers

Yup - bled intermittently from 11 to 16 weeks. Everything from spotting to massive floods. It's terrifying.

30 weeks now and all is well.

Sending you positive vibes Flowers

Thanks all for your responses.

Midwife rang at 9am to cancel what would have been my booking appointment. When I said I was bleeding more, suggested I contact out of hours maternity at local teaching hospital.

They didn't want to know, but got back in touch with midwife who fitted me in for scan at lunchtime.

Not good news. Could tell as soon as I saw scan the heartbeat was gone. Have to call local EPU in morning for second scan and confirmation of the inevitable. Midwife suggested they may offer medical management, as have been (now realise) threatening for weeks.

Just want it over with now. Have had a lot of loss this year and hoped this was the turning point.

Spent the afternoon catching up on the miscarriage thread on Mumsnet, so have a fairly good idea of what to expect.

I am more upset for OH than myself. He is currently doing a very good job of not saying anything at all.

Best wishes to all of you. Wouldn't have a clue how to cope had it not been for ladies on Mumsnet being kind enough to share their experience.

So sorry it turned out this way snarkle. I do know what it's like as do a great many other mumsnetters. Please look after yourself and your OH. FlowersFlowers
