Pregnancy

I couldn't possibly be in labour without actually knowing I was pregnant, could I?

Sorry if wrong section.

I have had pretty normal periods, a couple of times it was about a week late but came as normal iyswim.

Next one due in 6 days.

But it all started a fee days ago where I wiped and there was a smear of light blood.

Since then I have been feeling a bit 'off'. I noticed about 3 days ago my nipple started leaking. If I squeeze it produces 'colostrum' looking liquid. I have been constipated off and on. On christmas eve I started to get a pain in my lower back/side which did travel over to the other side.

After googling I figured that leaky boob was because I had just had sex and that can apparently happen. And the pain was from the constipation.

But it's still there. I have also had an intense headache on just one side. And have had shit sleep the past couple of nights.

But when I press my stomach I don't feel any movement or anything to indicate a baby could be in there.

What could it be though?

I have a really uncomfortable feeling down there. It's just, well, weird.

But because I have been having periods and obviously not thought I was pregnant I have been drinking and smoking as usual Blush

Top it all off I had a very vivid dream last night where I gave birth to a full sized cat Confused

It doesn't sound like you're pregnant. It sounds like you could be quite constipated and if you are, it could take several bowel movements before it's cleared up.

It's unlikely you're pregnant, but can you get anywhere to get a test?

An aquaintances daughter recently gave birth without knowing she was pregnant.... being 37w preggo myself I think HOW but obviously it happens....
Could all be coincidental.. as you say normal and regular periods... The girl I mention above had PCOS so irregular periods usually.
Is the pain severe or could u maybe just do with a big trump...

Well you could but it's unlikely. I'd see a doctor about the symptoms you're having but I wouldn't assume labour.

Were you watching Call the Midwife last night?Grin

Nope never seen it, Madaunt Grin

Thanks for the replies, has reassured me a bit.

I just don't know why I still have milky breasts (last had sex 3 days ago).

I have been farting and doing some poos also.

Arrgh. It is just all a coincidence. Must be. I just feel so weird at the moment.

I have to say I'm totally miffed at how you've even thought about being in labour when you're not pregnant from that list of symptoms. It's crazy!

Leaky boobs may mean high prolactin so do see your gp for a check up.

Haha. I needed that answer.

Guess it's my mind working overtime.

This is how I got to it -

Smear of blood
leaky boobs
pretty much constant pain in lower back/sides
trouble sleeping
constipation (I had that bad both times I was really in labour)
Uncomfortable feeling
And of course the stories of 'I never new I was pregnant until I was in labour/at hospital'

You need to see a doctor pronto about the discharge from your nipple, sorry if it sounds alarmist but that's definitely not normal.

Get nipple discharge checked and get some fybogel down you.

They only leak if I squeeze them. Like how they are when you are in late pregnancy.

They don't leak without stimulation iykwim.

I will see if I can get an appointment on Monday.

To be fair, I once had such a horrific IBS flare up that my belly was blown up like a beach ball (similar to my 37 week current belly) and I was writhing around the floor in agony. My OH insisted we went to the walk in centre, I could barely walk from care to waiting room, kept having to get my breath and grip on to things. It looked like I was in labor, even the triage nurse got me to take a test before she would believe me when I said I wasn't pregnant. Then she called the doctor in, who got me to take a second test, in case the first was faulty. It was however just really, really bad trapped wind.

It's unlikely. Remotely possible perhaps, but highly unlikely.

I'm pretty sure you're not having kittens either Wink.

If you still feel odd on Tuesday (BH on Monday) try to make an appointment with your GP.

You could always do a pregnancy test, if you can find a chemist or shop open to get one, I'm not sure how reliable they are late on in pregnancy though.

I always get milk before my period, OP.
Definitely get checked out though X

Are you on any medications? I'm on med that increases prolactin. Some people end up with leaky boobs on it.
Have you had any more bleeding since the first smear if blood?
Could you maybe be in the early stages of pregnancy? The bleeding/pain could be implantation?

It sounds like you could be in the very early stages of pregnancy OP

Could very likely be early pregnancy symptoms.

I sometimes feel phantom kicks and convince myself I am pregnant. I don't think it sounds like you are, if you have been feeling funny for days surely something more would be happening.
I am sure I have seen a thread on here before though and it turned out the woman had gone into surprise labour.

I had nipple discharge with dd1. That was the main indicator that I was pg. I was only 6 wks at the time.

(I'm really not a dramatic I promise but)...I'm only saying because no one else has that there are definitely a few sinister (big C) symptoms in that list (please get to a doctor) x

Okay I haven't been to the docs as the nipple discharge stopped and the pain stopped after a few trips to the loo Blush

But I was due yesterday and today I had a smear of old blood (just after sex) but nothing since.

I guess I should get a pregnancy test?

Daysleeper What other symptoms apart from the discharge did you associate with cancer?

Yes, take a test! No amount of discussing symptoms with strangers on a forum will give you the answer.
