Hi everyone, just wondering when you got an appointment with the midwife/GP after you got BFP? My first one will be January 8th and by that stage I'll be 10 weeks. Is that standard? will the 12 week scan follow soon after that? Sorry, maybe these are stupid questions but I have no clue 😊 Thanks in advance

Perfectly normal! My booking appointment was at 10+5 I think. Got the scan date through the following day, for 13 weeks.

Due to a backlog at my local hospital i had first scan at 12wks then booking appointment at 13+5. Felt strange to be 3 months pregnant and have had no contact with midwives but pretty normal from what I can gather.

I saw my gp at 5 weeks, midwife 8 weeks and my scan is at 12 weeks.
I was given booking in appointment and scan the day I went to gp.
8+5

Anything from 8-12 weeks is pretty standered really.
As long as you have your scan before 14 weeks then that's fine (if you want the bloods taken for down syndrome etc).

My booking in appointment was at 11 weeks. I was a bit anxious about getting a scan appointment before 14 weeks, but we slipped in just in time. The only thing is that there wouldn't have been time for a re-scan if the baby was uncooperative and the nuchal measuring couldn't be done.

I had my booking app this week at 9+6, however I had briefly met the midwife before to get the blood test forms and arrange the booking appointment. Also have my 'first' scan date which will be when I am 12+4.

I think the timings you have seem normal.

I had mine at 10+4 they gave me the phone number to ring the imaging department to then book my scan. When I had my dating scan they then pre booked the 20week one

I saw my GP at 6 weeks but it was completely pointless! My booking in appointment with the midwife was at 10 weeks and my scan was 12+1. The waiting feels like forever, but then the next 8 weeks before your 20 week scan go past in a blur!

Yes. I got bfp at 4 weeks. Self referred to midwives at 6 weeks, appointment was 11 weeks and scan was at 13 weeks.

There's absolutely nothing that can medically be done for you in those early weeks, unfortunately if anything goes wrong it just goes wrong.

Take your folic acid and check NHS choices for food guidelines.

Perfectly normal. First appointment is none eventful anyways except for the booking of the scan. They did mine over the phone whilst I was there. I was a bit disappointed with my first midwife appointment, I was expecting something more exciting than form filling at least!!

Thanks everyone, I guess I'm just being impatient! 😂 going to try and relax over Christmas and take it easy. 3 weeks isn't that long to wait I guess 😬

Hi OP!

I found out at 5 weeks and just had my first appointment at 9W 3D.

It seems like a really long agonising wait, and for the first couple of weeks or so I was so concious of bring pregnant and every ache or pain! (First pregnancy) Those weeks dragged.

I have definitely started to relax a bit more recently, even though I know I'm still in the 'dangerzone'. The jump from 7-9 weeks went a lot quicker and I felt a lot calmer!

I'm now 9w 6d and my scan is booked in for 5th Jan, when I will be 12w 2d.

Hoping the next 2 and half weeks go quickly and without incident, with xmas and new years to fill my time amd keep me busy!

Best of luck to you and your pregnancy xxxxx
