Is anyone doing the progesterone scientific trial? How are you finding it?

I started it yesterday and sorry for TMI but it's a bit icky as it just seems to dribble out for hours after Confused I'm considering stopping doing it as it's making me feel gross.

I took cyclogest progesterone pessaries for 12 weeks and the label said vaginal or rectal use. Up the bum was mess free!

I am on progesterone not a trail and via the rectum is mess free! See if you can do it that way instead?

I take two, twice a day. My clinic are very clear it's front bum only. It's gross - just so messy. Roll on 12 weeks when I can't stop.

I was on progesterone until 12 wks.

I always did it via "the back door". Sounds really unpleasant but honestly it's not. So easy. No mess, no need for liners and you don't need to lie down after inserting it.

Plus used vaginally it can irritate the cervix and potentially cause spotting. I was on it for recurrent miscarriage and there was no way I could've coped with spotting.

Up the bum every single time! Far more civilised.

Not something I thought I'd say Grin

If they're doing it for a trial then specifying it's use makes sense, they want to cut down on discrepancies.

I've been on Cyclogest for 14 weeks now and also have been asked by the consultant to use it vaginally. I use it just before bed (limits gravity leaking). I tried using liners but they got melted to my pants by whatever is in the pessary, seriously unpleasant Blush. Get some cheap pants from Primark or one of the supermarkets & get used to hand washing the waxy deposit off before they go in the machine.

It's not great but I'm convinced it's keeping my baby where they're supposed to be so worth it. If you can help them understand better how it works by taking part in the trial then that's awesome & will help others in the future.

I used them after recurrent mc up to week 14. I used them vaginally and seem to be the only person who didn't have any mess at all - where did they go? Grin
