Hi, I have my 16 week appointment with the midwife this afternoon, what will they do at this one?

I had mine yesterday (I was only 15+2 but the midwife is away next week). She did almost nothing. She took my blood pressure, chatted to me for five minutes then sent me on my way. I've heard that some midwives listen for the heartbeat at this stage but most leave it for a later appointment (mine does, evidently!)

I've ha done today she took a urine sample, took my blood pressure, went over my blood test results and asked me if I was OK. It took less than 5 mins really.

Mine checked blood pressure, pulse & dipped wee. She also had a feel of my tummy but that was mainly for the student MWs benefit and had a listen for the heartbeat but warned that they might not find it this early (she did)
She also asked me how I was, filled in paperwork for physio referral as I have SPD and I updated her on where I was with the hospital - I'm high risk and booked in at a hospital in another health trust just to make things more complicated.

I had mine yesterday (at 17wks +4). She did my blood pressure, took a urine sample, asked if I had any questions and booked me in for the glucose tolerance test I need at 25 weeks. The student midwife she had with her then listened for the heartbeat. It was all very quick!!

I had a urine test, chat about bloods result, bit of a feel of the belly, listen to the heartbeat. I also had the blood test for DS as we couldn't get a reading for the nuchal fold at the 12 week scan, and she weighed me for that. It seems to depend on what area you're in, but mainly (aside from blood test) it seemed more of a chance for me to ask questions rather than them checking for anything in particular. Good luck!

Same as most, not a lot! Blood pressure, urine, I got dopplered too. That's about it. After 26ish weeks they prod baby to find it's position and measure your bump but to be honest I find them a bit of a waste of time!
