Hi guys just had my 20 week scan all is fine with baby but the little begger had their legs crossed so we are still non the wiser wether girl or boy want to wait to get another scan so their bigger, this might sound stupid but is there a cut off where they can't see up until a certain week???

I think most private companies will say the weeks they prefer to do a gender scan on the website.

I think they like to do it before 32 weeks, but will do it later but have less chance of seeing Iyswim?
I had a growth scan with my son at 36 weeks, and good job I knew what he was because the pics they put in my notes where very obvious lol.

If you want to know what the sex of the baby is I think your better off booking a private scan which is specifically to see the gender. The 20 week scan is to check the growth of the baby so they don't have as much time (and probably less inclined) to spend the time looking for a twenties weenie.

My friend had a 4d scan where she found out. Think she paid £75 and got the 3d scan picture also. Maybe worth looking into getting that. I'm not sure but I'm guessing seeing the sex in 3D may be more accurate than in 2d (this is just a guess though as we have opted to not find out sex so haven't looked into it)

i have a private scan booked for next week (18 weeks eekkkk excited!) to find out what we are having....secret as the family don't know....Christmas day surprise for everyone! the prices vary pretty much dependant on where you live.

I had one at 28 weeks with DS and was great pics are so clear....my sister in law had one at 33 weeks with her DD and the pics aren't quite as good as obviously baby was slightly more squished! she said she wouldn't have one that late again. I think the cut off they prefer is 34 weeks but I don't suppose they would say no after it?
