Help! Miscarriage?

I realise none of you can give me a definitive answer here but any help is going to be gratefully accepted.

I'm 10+5 with 1 previous mmc back in February. I'm due my 12 week scan on Monday. I also had a clot a couple of weeks ago and was seen through the EPU who gave me a scan. Everything was fine and they dated me as 9+4 then.

I've been really struggling with the vomiting and diarrhea bug this week. Had very mild cramping earlier today but put it down to stomach upset. Now in past hour, had a couple of streaks of dark brown when I wiped. Wiped again about 10 minutes ago and it was cleaner but when I wiped a bit deeper the blood was a little bit brighter but not much there if that makes sense?

Doing my nut now as it was probably 5 days before my scan last time I had a tiny bit of bleeding and then discovered at the scan my baby hadn't made it. I am terrified this is history repeating itself.

From what I read, miscarriages will begin with darker blood in the wipe which will get heavier as time goes on? Last time I was medically managed.

I'm so sorry you're going through this. Flowers

Can you get to an EPU before Monday? It won't change the outcome, obviously, but it can ease that horrible wait for a scan when you're bleeding.

My miscarriage in January began with light brown discharge which then did indeed turn dark red and clotty. However, lots and lots of women have bleeds in pregnancy and go on to have perfectly healthy full term babies.

Keeping everything crossed for you.

Hi Sock, I know how you feel, Im kínd of in the same boat knicker checking every 2minutes 10 minutes. I suposse the only advice would be to relax as much as you can and i know its hard. Maybe see if you can bring your scan forward to Friday or something?

Thanks for the replies. I've phoned nhs24 who have the midwives phoning me first thing tomorrow morning.
Worried too as my Boobs seem to be feeling not sore. Feeling nauseous but that could still be due to bug. Super smell sense still present though.
All clear on wiping now

So sorry this is happening for you!
Hope it goes well when the midwife rings!
I'm having the same issue (but I'm not even sure if I'm pregnant, I've just made a thread) what were nhsdirect like with you? I'm working away all week so can't get to my GP but really want some advice!

They were good. The call handler got me straight through to a nurse who then contacted the out of hours midwife service in the area. I'm in Scotland so not sure if our system works any differently from yours?

That's good to know!
I'm not sure most of the time they send us to ooh doc. I don't really want to go just want to speak to them and see what they think.
Ideally I need to find time to go to my GP! X

Sock - if you're in Edinburgh area, the ERI epu are very good at seeing you quickly. I've been in twice, both times within 48hours of getting in touch with them.

Fingers crossed its all ok for you x

I had a miscarriage years ago, and then a bleed (similar to how you describe) with dc1.

Sorry posted too soon.

When I m/c it was brown but persistent and gradually increased over 12 hours to bright red/clots.

When I had the bleed with dc1, that was it as far as I was concerned. But he is 14 now.
These early weeks are such a tense time.
Try and rest as much as you can and speak to someone in the morning.

Spoke to midwives this morning and have an appointment at EPU on Friday morning. DH decided we aren't waiting and has booked us in for a private scan later today. Have to travel through to Glasgow for it though!

Fingers crossed please x

Thank you for all the lovely vibes. I'm glad to report, it's good news. Everything seems to be fine and there's no indication to the source of the bleeding. Baby has grown by over 1.5cm in a week and heartbeat is definitely there. We got to hear it too!

Relief doesn't cover it. So now I need to calm TF down and not panic.

Great news, I had an awful sickness bug when pregnant with DD, severe vomiting etc. I was so dehydrated, plus the pressure of heaving so much, I had brown blood when wiping too, the docs reckons I dislodged some old blood due to the vigorous nature of the sickness I'd endured xxx
