pregnant following surgery

Hi all,
Hope someone may have a similar experience to me? I'm 10 weeks pregnant.
I had my gall bladder removed in August. It was a keyhole surgery so small scars and shorter healing time. Now in the past couple of days the bigger of my scars has begun to be a bit painful.
I'm not noticeably any fatter yet and the skin around the scar isn't stretched. It just hurts!
Has anyone had a similar experience?

Hi! This is not the same thing but I had a laparoscopy to remove endometriosis and conceived about 6 weeks later. I have 3 small scars on my abdomen and of course was still healing internally from the laser scars as well when I got pregnant.

I thought my external scars had healed as they caused no pain, but when I was about 8-10 pregnant weeks the areas around them got a bit sore as my tummy stretched. About 14 weeks I also has some weird internal pains that weren't round ligament, so my doctor thought it was maybe the internal scars getting stretched a bit

I'm 24 weeks now and don't really get bothered by it anymore, but do get a bit tender around one of the external scars after a growth spurt! I just try and keep them moisturised.

I'm not really sure if that helped you! But just wanted to say it's normal for the area to feel sore as the skin and ligaments are stretched, but it won't be anything to worry about and will get better as you continue to heal. As always though go to the docs if you are worried

Congrats Smile

Also you may feel like you haven't stretched or got any bigger at 10 weeks but you will have a little bit, and it will only take a tiny bit of stretching to make the area tender! I didn't really 'pop' until about 19 weeks but had most of the tenderness in the early weeks of pregnancy, rather than when I had major growth spurts later

I'm not pregnant, but had my gall bladder out last year and have put on a bit of weight and my scar (the big one near my belly button) is really painful.

I got pregnant with twins 5 days after having my appendix removed! Blush I noticed as I got bigger that my scars got a little uncomfortable but not painful. As pp said you will have started to stretch a little inside even if you've not noticed outside. It could be that the scar tissue inside is becoming agitated. Ask your mw for reassurance at your next appointment. Good luck.
