At our surgery we have to make an appointment with the GP who 'confirms' pregnancy and then give details to reception so that the midwife can be in touch to organise booking appointment (last time I think around 7-8 weeks). I did this 3 weeks ago but still not had a call from the midwife.
I called the surgery yesterday and was told the midwife is there one day a week and would have been in touch on the Wednesday following my GP appointment. The receptionist I spoke to didn't sound too enthusiastic about explaining this to me and pretty much hung up before I had chance to ask anything else but did confirm my details were in the book. There have now been 3 Wednesdays since my appointment with the GP and I've heard nothing. I know it isn't imperative that I see the midwife yet but from what I remember last time I'd already had the appointment through for the 12 week scan by this point.
If I don't hear anything by the end of today shall I contact the birth centre directly? This is my 3rd and I don't remember it taking this long in either of my previous pregnancies but perhaps things have changed in the 2 years since DS2 was born.
