Weird feeling in middle of the night

I'm 40+1 today and am at the 'get this damn baby out now' stage, so am probably looking for any little twinge/sign that things might be moving. Beyond the odd crampy/backache feelings, and random fanny daggers, not much seems to be happening.

So last night I was trying get back to sleep after my first wee of the night, when baby lurched again and suddenly my body just felt the weirdest urge to push (and did). Like doing a big poo push. It was just the once but was quite startling.

Anyone else had this? Could it have just been a reaction to the baby's head suddenly pushing down? Or are 'practise pushes' a thing? Confused

Guess its just me then - probably overthinking things, looking in vain for any sign of labour... Sad

Could it be when you need a wee? I'm 35 weeks and wake up with what feel like contractions and I need a wee. Maybe? Hope your baby comes soon though.

Oh.. I'd say it's your body getting ready... maybe baby shoving down or a strong braxton hicks?

I think more likely baby shoving down, he can be quite strong! Don't actually think I've had any Braxton hicks, not any I've noticed anyway.

I do feel like I've had a few different signs but it's just that little push over the edge I need. Hope the sweep on Tues helps things along but not counting on it as I know they're not always very effective.

Aaaargh am just so fed up of being a huge hideous uncomfortable pregnant woman!! Sad

I went 14 days over with my last. Sadly the sweep did nothing. Had to be induced. But it was really good and quick once it got going.
