Yes you're probably right. Last time was easier in the sense that I was able to just lay down all the time. Having another LO does make things a bit rough. Come on April! I just want my baby in my arms already!

Fretting about that doc didn't tell me a time limit on metachlopromide will give them a ring tomorrow, hopefully I'm within the 12 weeks of taking it cos I went through others first. Don't know what I'll do without it though.

Toothbrushing; I probably managed to brush my teeth 20 times in 8 months! Luckily I ended up only needing one filling -and a replacement rather than a new one. Was very pleased. Try mouthwash. You shouldn't brush for 15 mins von anyway (acid softens the enamel and then you can do damage brushing). Try and find a mouthwash that works for you - will help with the health of your teeth and will help you feel a little fresher, as well as taking away nasty vom taste. I used a cchild's one -a fruity one. Be prepared to need to try a few til you find one that doesn't make you sick though! If you can just about manage to brush your teeth, try different pastes, again kids ones might wirk better (I know some people have used a fennel one).

Woken up feeling sick and nose is bunged up too so can't sleep.

Ealli I decided to wait as I knew I would have hg again. Yet even with a two year old it's been so much harder this time. Initially plan had been to wait until dd was in school or they have created a hg cure!

I agree about the mouthwash. I can't stand the kids ones anymore so I use cordysyl which helps. I even carry one to school!

Parks sick arse down and gets comfy. Terrible night, brought dinner back up then stupidly fell asleep at 7 DH left me to it but obviously I woke between 2 and 4! I was awake long enough that my morning retching started 9 wks today, forever to go!

Eallison I went for baby after twins with behaviour probs fell preg when they were 23 months HG he'll again and worked part time (granted I was 22 lol) glad I had smaller age gap but I won't lie
.... other kiddies plus HG is horrible they mimic u they cry when u even sneeze worried ULL be sick they don't settle well ect ect BUT they don't remember when young.
Older ones do and I'm finding sheltering my teens and 11 yr old awful
Dd at 2.5 won't remember ....
Swings and roundabouts. But I wouldn't do it with a baby in arms
That would be my idea of torture and I'd have missed out the most precious 12 -18 months which are golden and fly by ....

Never thought I'd get here ... still feel crap but tbh nothing compared to weeks 8-13 where I could have curled up n died tbf

ealli it took me 3 years to even contemplate trying again after HG. My dd was 4 in August and has just started school. 2nd time my HG was so much worse, dd kind of understood that mummy was sick and so didn't get upset and she can occupy herself a bit so was much easier when I couldn't move off the sofa. I think HG would ruin those early milestones but doing the school run with a newborn (especially in this weather!) isn't much fun either, although it is nice to have some one to one time with ds!

ealli I think I'm probably going to go against the grain here and say the sooner the better! I've got 2yrs 4 between the first 2DC and then there will be a 3yr 4 month gap until this one arrives. I definitely think the smaller they are the easier they are! And require less entertaining!

Was a long night with LO hes crupe kept him up. Hes usually a pretty good sleeper and a very chilled baby. Its horrible seeing him getting so upset and crying. Im feeling the nausea this morning so havent attempted eating anything yet. Im yet to find out if having a small age gap is a good idea or not. My 1st will be 14 months when baby no. 2 arrives. Have defo found this pregnancy harder and the HG even worse than in first pregnancy.

I think it takes a long time to get emotionally and physically over an HG pregnancy plus nappies/ weaning boke central.

Ealli - I've been wondering about age gaps, mine will be 2 when new one is born as career wise it made sense for me to get children done in one go, but I do feel mental going through pregnancy so close together. My brain has mostly blocked out how horrific last time was though. Also I've been really lucky DS spends a lot of time with MIL otherwise I would have had to wait til he was in nursery/school.

Thanks all for reassurance/support about my metochlopromide intake I have worked out it is less then 10 weeks I've been on it as I didn't get put on it til my 2nd or 3rd hospital admission. Am 21 weeks now so hoping I won't need it much longer fingers crossed!!

It's not so much about age gaps but about when is best for me to go thru HG again! Young (under 2) so he won't remember any of it, or older (school age) so less dependant on me for everything but more likely to remember (I'd hate for him to understand that effectively new sibling is making mummy poorly and end up hating hin/her before he/she arrives). Based on how tired I am today, it definitely needs to be after this little one is reliably sleeping thru the night!

One think im thankful for is that ive got pregnant whilst on Maternity as i really dont know how i would have coped with going to work with HG this time. Im hoping by the time i start back (i will be 23 weeks) that i will be much better by then. I really admire those of you that are having to go into work and feel this way. Just managed to get my LO take a nap. So just laying on sofa sipping fluids as feel rough.

If i wanted a 3rd child would it be more than likely i would get hg a 3rd time?

Hope everyone having a reasonable day. Ealli, I think it's also worth thinking about the toll HG takes on your body. Even a normal pregnancy can drain your nutritional reserves and bodily stamina, so I think we can safely assume it's 100 times worse with HG. Maybe worth allowing your reserves to be topped up before going for it again. I've quite big gaps between mine, and I've found that a help (DD at school and DS at nursery), but everyone's different.

Charlie, this is my third. With my first I was never diagnosed with HG but had pretty miserable morning sickness. Second time was HG diagnosed, hospital admission and cyclizine throughout. This time, worse HG, several admissions early on and still on Ondansetron. Seems to have intensified for me each time. Not sure what Barmee would say; she's also on her third.
