How much did you grow in your 3rd trimester?

Naively I thought in the back of my mind that being 36 weeks my shape wouldn't change much now - but no, nature has another path in mind! I'm still outgrowing clothes and am loathe to go shopping again for clothes I am hardly going to wear! How much growth did you put on in your final few weeks of pregnancy?

Interested to hear responses on this. I'm 33 weeks and my app said that I shouldn't be growing much more, i wondered how this can be the case when we put on the most weight at this stage? Confused

I looked glamorously pregnant at the end of the second trimester, generally slim with a perfect round bump. By the end of the third trimester I was full on beached whale Grin enjoy it!

With my ds (15yrs old now) I was like a beach ball with legs. Everything went round, even had stretch marks on my arms. Am only 7 weeks now and in maternity jeans. Tho that is all bloating, but can see saddle bags starting and waist thickening already and I'm def not over eating due to bad sickness.

Absolutely loads. I finished work at 34 weeks and it was like given the opportunity to rest and focus on baby growing, my body really got busy with growing!

Since you are so far along couldn't you live in leggings for a few weeks?

Weeks 32-38 certainly were the growing stage!

My baby went from 3lb to 7lb 5oz and you could tell!

Just think your near the end, I stopped buying clothes and started plotting my yummy mummy wardrobe.

( not sure about the post that you don't grow from 33weeks Hmm)

Also there are pre and post pregnancy clothes, so maybe look at nursing stuff if that's what you plan to do.

Leggings are cutting in now, and I've been getting puffiness in my ankles and lower legs which doesn't help. Those "giant" t-shirts and shirts I bought for this stage are becoming very fitted! I think I'm going to have to go and buy some leggings and vest tops in a bigger size. Really didn't want to spend any more money - i wanted it to go on nursing clothes. But I'm down to my last few items of clothing...

I grew loads at the end with both my girls... Wore leggings/tights with woollen dress jumper type things in winter. Nothing expensive... And save them if you are planning more!

MrsCrimshaw - feeling your pain!! This morning my favourite maternity work trousers are no longer a goer! :(

Luckily had another pair but I don't like them - think I look like MC Hammer in them :(

Tops are ok thank god!

It annoys me that maternity clothes are really only good between about 25 weeks and 34 weeks of your pregnancy. I'm 34 weeks and living in leggings and my boyfriend's baggy tops! Also, unimaginativename13 is right - look into clothes you can wear during nursing from this point. So button-down tops, large vests etc. You'll appreciate having them later :)

About a ton!

My bump was ginormous but luckily not too much anywhere else thankfully.

With ds1 i ws pretty smug at not having grown a single stretch mark at 37 weeks, thinking that i would therefore be fine...

oh how that smile was wiped off my face...

I just got bigger and bigger... at 38 weeks my waistline as 60" and i refused to measure it again as it was too upsetting (it was 27' when i got my bfp)

teamsteady I suddenly got purple lines on my boobs last week - so depressing as I too thought I'd escaped stretch marks. Just ordered some size 20 cheapo tops online - my overall size hasn't changed much (12-14 before preggers) but my bump is mountainous and nothing goes round it. I'm all out front!

I didn't grow much past 30 weeks. Bump measured 31 when I had DS and I was wearing size 12 clothes (usually an 8-12).

This is me just before DS was born

I hope I stop growing. I'm 35 weeks and have a few painful stretch marks around my 42 inch bump. Ouch!

At 36 weeks I am definitely still growing but like some my bump is all out front. I'm and 8-10 and people have said I don't even look pregnant from the back lol! :)

No stretch marks as yet (touch wood) as I am slathering on Tummy Butter twice a day! Got a little purple vein appear on my boob though, which I am not happy about :(

I refuse to wear leggings. Its just me, but the only leggings I wore before were running tights. I just don't like leggings. It has made it a little difficult in the office as to find suitable clothes though, especially when my go to mat trousers no longer fit! Today I'm wearing a black before and after dress from Vertbaudet with black tights and knee high boots - actually like this combo and tempted to get another dress for BF after the birth too :)

Peacocks do long vests for £3.50 they are great after birth too as cover my bum (ideal as you don't want your maternity pad line in show)

Next leggings are £12 for maternity

Long cardigans to throw on over the top

Next have clearance items too- never pay full price!

unimaginative I hadn't even thought about maternity pads on show - good tip! The only Next near here doesn't do maternity but there is a Peacocks I can go to.

teamrigby I have been religiously applying coconut and bio oil twice daily for 6 months and yet my purple marks came anyway, from nowhere. Not fair at all.

Your bump should grow a cm per week, I thought? At 39+3, I measure 41cms from the top of my bump to the top of my pubic bone. Stretch marks appeared in the last few weeks too gutted

Most stores won't do maternity

Order online and get free delivery to a store, I got my dresses in the next sale. They did have legginings for £6 but had a 8 week wait which was no good for me.
