Maxi Cosi Pebble - packaging

Bought a Pebble from John Lewis and it's turned up in a non-branded box in a plastic bag with no instructions? The box was ripped and I out my hand in and could feel ge fabric seat as even the bag wasn't taped up. There's a loose seat pad part that I've no idea what to do with because apart from some tags on the seat there isn't a leaflet to tell me what's what. Surely that's not normal? Thanks

I would call John Lewis and inform them what you have received as I personally wouldn't be happy using a tampered with car seat for my DD. I would definitely send it back and say your not happy, my Maxi-Cosi car seat that I bought from Mothercare came in a branded box, not sure if there were instructions though, I would assume so!
Hope that it gets sorted for you.

Have you checked the compartment at the back of the seat that opens to see if the instructions are in there?

Thanks Laura, I've dropped them an email.
I haven't checked there Cloudy - literally no guidance anywhere, I didn't even know there was a compartment there. Will have a look, but like Laura says, I don't feel very comfortable using it now.

Our Maxi Cosi cabriofix came from John Lewis (well direct from their supplier) and was also in an a plain box. No instructions other than a swing tag, but in the compartment at the back there was a booklet.

I just googled and found a YouTube video that told me all I needed to know. Been using it for 11months now and it's fine.

I can't remember the box on mine but the instructions were definitely in the compartment at the back. I told DH we didn't get any. He didn't believe me and had a good look and found them.

Car seats often don't come in boxes. Our first one didn't come in a box from Argos, just plain plastic wrapping, the next size up from mothercare was the same. I don't think they are manufactured with boxes so John Lewis probably just place them in a plain box for purposes of delivery.

Mine was same when it arrived from JL. As was the next one up. No issues. Booklet in compartment at the back as other posters say. Seat bit is meant to be loose so you can use it or not as your baby grows.

I've bought 2 car seats from mothercare and they didn't come in a box, just plastic covering.

The instructions should be in the back on the seat.
