I am going in for my induction tomorrow at 37+3, gd and other health issues. Between having my ds and this pregnancy I have had 3 misscarriages. I don't feel like I have bonded with this baby because I have been so on edge about it all ending. I have been so ill I have found it hard to be positive. What if I don't love it. I have focused so hard on keeping the baby alive inside me that I haven't thought about it being here, loving it and caring for it, how it will change our family/lives.

I feel foolish saying these things, because I know I will love my baby and it will sort of complete (for want of a better word) our family. My ds is so excited but I know my dh is nervous too I can tell.

I'm trying to stay busy, I have ran a few errands, changed the beds, put all the washing away and I am going to give myself a little pamper after checking my bags and have a sleep.

I know ultimately the thing that scares me is the thought of the pain and I'm thinking, it's one day just one day (well hopefully). I just feel a sence of dread. I know in my head I will survive, it will be ok but why can't I just calm the hell down.

You will be fine flowers

Can you focus on practicalities to get you through tonight? If you have a kindle or kindle app I'd recommend downloading "Birth Skills" by Juju Sundin. Or re-reading it if you already have it.

It has great suggestions for strategies to cope with labour pain, and they really do help IME.

Good luck and just think, in a couple of days you'll be snuggling your beautiful newborn baby smile

Of course you're anxious. Best wishes for tomorrow (also recommend that book) and I am sure they'll be adoration for your new baby in the many emotions tomorrow might bring you!

Giving birth is a major life event and it's perfectly normal to feel anxious about this. You have obviously suffered loss with previous pregnancies and it's completely understandable that you have been so concerned with the baby surviving pregnancy that you haven't quite thought of their arrival and planning for once they're actually here. when I was pregnant with my DD, my husband hadn't really overly thought about life once the baby arrived. I think this was largely down to the fact he had no experience with children and didn't know what to expect, but also because he's very practical and deals with things when they happen! When my daughter was born, he was completely overcome with emotion! He was totally overwhelmed with love towards her. The point is, whether you are mentally prepared, or not, Mother Nature kicks in and you will feel an incredible sense of love towards them. You honestly have nothing to worry about! And labour, you've done it before, like you said, it's a day!! Sends lots of hugs your way flowers

Good luck! You are nearly there. I've had 3 mcs too with no dcs yet and on attempt 4 am finally 28 wks pregnant and I'm absolutely terrified for the reasons you are.

Keep strong and big hugs. You are so nearly there flowers

Hi ladies, nothing is happening I will be put on the drip at 1pm if there's no movement. Radio is good though makes me feel like dancing.

Maybe try to dance that baby out (invent some sort of bed based boogie on the drip). brew
