Pregnancy sickness

I'm nearly 13 weeks pregnant with second Dc and still struggling with the sickness. Was vomiting 15 times a day before Stemetil kicked in, but still vomiting 5 times a day. Already had a month off work but can't drive due to drowsiness of the medication and public transport takes forever. I only managed a couple of days back at work before I was being more sick again. Not sure what I should do because I was expecting (hoping) it would ease up and I could just get back to work. I've got a stressful job and deadlines approaching where work isn't being covered and it's really starting to stress me out. Is it normal to have so much time off or should I just suck it up?

No, get seen again.
Take a urine sample, ask for an alternative antiemetic (Ondansetron can be very effective, as can Cyclizine).
The urine sample should be checked for ketones which our bodies produce when we are unable (or just don't) eat enough and would get you an admission and a drip.

Don't just suck it up. Google 'hyperemesis' and see if you recognise yourself. 'Tis rotten, sorry to hear you are struggling.
Thanks

I was off for the first 16 weeks of pregnancy before I eventually resigned as couldn't continue. I had an ovarian cyst rupture which hospitalized me and then got hyperemesis which didn't go until 21 weeks and has returned at 35 weeks and I'm now 37 weeks counting down the day x

You sound like you have hyperemesis. I'm a sufferer. Been sick since 5 weeks, signed off work since 6 weeks and finally going back tomorrow on a phased return at 15+3...I'm on ondansetron which has been a life saver and really helped me. Get yourself signed off again. HG is seriously debilitating....it's not like normal morning sickness. Come on over to the hyperemesis support thread...you will find wonderful ladies who are going through it too and will a serious lifeline on those days where you feel like you just want to die. Thank you, I thought I was just being pathetic. The strange thing is that I am keeping some food down and there is no rhyme or reason to when I'm being sick. I do feel awful though. Although I'm so sorry other people are going through it, it's good to know I'm not on my own.
