Ok so, I had a chipper last night, I know it was really bad. I haven't had one for a year plus bit I was totally craving one. Anyway, it was nice. I went to bed as normal. Come 4am I started to get major diarrhoea cramps and really hot. I 'just' made it to the loo in time. It was coming out both ends and was absolutely horrendous!! I am now still in bed after being sick most of the day, it's mostly just bike that's coming up now as there is nothing left. My body hurts from wreching all day and I feel very de-hydrated and light headed. I have no energy for anything. I'm not sure if it's a bug? Or a bad chipper? I think I just need someone to tell me it's ok cause I feel like I'm affecting my baby from being so sick and not being able to eat. Any tips? I've taken a dissolvable anti-sickness tablet but not sure if it's going to really help me. I'm starving but even my icecle came up earlier on so I'm too scared to eat ConfusedSad bleh!! I'm feeling really sorry for myself!!

I'm sure it does darling, dry retching is the worst. It's exhausting.

All you can do right now is ride it out, sip water regularly and take some paracetamol when you feel you can keep them down.

If it is a sickness bug they don't usually last very long, you could be feeling much better tomorrow.

Your baby will be fine (I vomited non stop with DS1 until I was 5 months) but if things haven't improved by Monday then give your midwife a ring for some reassurance.

Also if you are feeling hungry (which is a good sign) could you try to sip some soup?

No idea what a chipper is but you could have food poisoning or you could have a virus.

The important thing is hydration. Sips of water regularly are better tolerated than big drinks. Don't take anything like Imodium, whatever's in there needs to come out.

Your baby will almost certainly be fine but because you're pregnant and your body is already busy growing a baby, you will find you feel worse than normal with a sickness bug.

A warm bath, lots of rest, fluids and if in doubt, speak to somebody medical.

Hope you feel better soon.

Ohhhhhh. Chish and Fips.

That's not 'really bad'. It's just a treat isn't it?

I hope you feel better soon. Smile
