I am 8 weeks and got hit accidentally on the upper abdomen in the middle while sleeping - I m worried - should I monitor something or visit the OB?

Thanks in advance to all

You should be fine as at 8 weeks your uterus will be nowhere near your upper abdomen, it will still be tucked in behind your pelvis.

Also the baby is very well cushioned inside the womb and surrounded by amniotic fluid.

Did the hit really hurt you?

Your baby is very well protected in there, especially as your uterus is still so low at that stage. At 8 weeks I was swimming with DS and he booted me in the abdomen so hard I thought I was going to be sick. I've also fallen down the stairs. I'm sitting here at 27 weeks now getting the shit kicked out of me from the inside Grin

Thank you both for your responses.

@MaisieDotes - no, the hit didn't hurt me (hard).

My car got hit by a bus when I was 12 weeks and the doctor said the same as above. Baby is well protected (and tiny!). They won't do anything if you go to the doc.

If you start to have any worrying symptoms, that's the time to be seen.

At 8 weeks (in my second pregnancy) I fell off the edge of the bath while painting. That baby is now 7 years old and perfectly normal.

At about the same time in my last pregnancy, I fell down the stairs and took the skin off my arse The baby is 11 days old.

Your baby is well buried and protected within your pelvis. Unless you experience any problems, bleeding or bad pain, its pretty safe to say that you and the baby will be fine.
