I am nearly 13 weeks pregnant and DP and I had sex at the weekend... I feel a bit bruised and then had what felt like period cramps... sex is safe while pregnant isn't it??

It is yes unless you have previous history of miscarriage or weak cervix.

If you haven't then it's perfectly safe. The cramps are just due to the excessive blood flow in the area.

I was on a 20 week sex ban due to previous history which was hard work but we've made up for it since then!

I have had miscarriages in the past but no one has said anything about no sex!

Glad to hear you have made up for it Brummiegirl GrinGrin

I think unless you've been told otherwise it's fine. I had a really horny few weeks in the middle months which we made the most of but now I just feel too big and unwieldy!

Hoping to get a few sessions in before the bubba arrives though, could be a while after that Confused

Sometimes after an orgasm, I found that my uterus felt hard for a few minutes - almost like Braxton hicks. It's just the muscles contracting a bit and it's not harmful if you have an otherwise healthy pregnancy but can feel a bit alarming.

At 35 weeks now, I will be hoping that when we finally do work up to DTD in the final few weeks, it might tip me over the edge into labour, but I somehow don't think it will Grin

I've had 3 x miscarriages plus ERPC's for those miscarriages and surgery on my cervix years ago. I think mine was just a precaution until post 20 wk scan.

We didn't do anything though until 22 weeks because the night before first mc we DTD and DP still blames himself Sad even though my rational mind knows that it was probably already over and it was just timing.

So we are taking advantage of a very small window until I get too big and uncomfortable or can't be arsed

Gosh Brummiegirl not surprised you are feeling cautious, what a thing to have gone through so many times Flowers.

I'm sure you will be fine now, esp if the midwives/gps etc say so. Hope the rest of your pregnancy goes well.

But how? I'm 26 weeks and the bump just gets in the way! If I'm on top I just feel the need to pee constantly and I can't orgasm going on all fours Blush It's rubbish as I've only just started feeling amorous again!
