Anyone else got big early?

I am starting to feel a bit paranoid about my protruding belly. I am 11 weeks and have a noticeable sticky out belly! I did over indulge up until recently due to feeling so ill. I am usually very fit and workout 6-7 times a week. I am back to working out and eating healthy again now as I don't feel as sick. My doctor even said any weight gain now is just over eating. I know that the date I gave for my last period is correct (I only remember because we were away and was hoping it had fully gone because I wanted some lurve making!) my belly feels different to how it has felt when I have been slightly podgy in the past, for example it stays if I try and suck it in and it's kinda hard rather than squidgy, it's not like rolls of fat either. Is anyone else feeling like this or felt like this? Maybe I am just kidding myself and I have just got porky Grin

I put on a stone in the first trimester and had a very visible bump by 10 weeks. Totally ridiculous - I wasn't overeating (much!) and was still working out 5/6 times a week.

Compared to my first pregnancy, where I only put on 4lb by my 16week appt despite eating like a horse, and it makes even less sense.

You're certainly not alone!

Yep, my trousers felt tight at 7 weeks (although I think that was just bloating) and I did have a small but very definite bump by my 12 week scan. I already had a bit of a muffin-top but the bump was right out the front and really hard.

I bloated until about 15 weeks and then my belly turned into a proper bump.

Your doctor is being ridiculous by saying any weight gain from 11 weeks is over eating! I am 38 weeks and have so far put on just under two stone which is in the healthy weight gain range.

Visible belly right from the BFP Grin

Everyone said twins (it's not).

So now 15 weeks, I look about 6 months pregnant, and am being asked regularly -'oo, when you are due!'. Have started lying, it's just getting embarrassing.

Don't listen to the doctor. All bodies are different, all pregnancies are different. Although my midwife said, that's not bump, that's bloa....just your body having done it before (good save).

I prefer to think of it as a bump than a bloat/fat. Don't worry about weight gain either, whether it's all or none at the beginning, or at the end...it all evens out over the 9 (10) months.

Congratulations! You must be coming up for your scan soon x

I did. 14 weeks and out of my work trousers as they are uncomfortable. My mum and sister laugh as it is still early but less than a 2lb weight gain says that this has to be the baby doing something.
People seem to forget that although the baby is still small (talking about at 13 weeks) at 7cm you still have a womb which is larger and probably other stuff in there too!

I say embrace the comfortable clothes Grin

I was huge from the get go. Massive bloating, just terrible. And I was walking up and down a hospital ward 13 hrs a day, hardly a sedentary lifestyle!

I felt really selfconscious and ended up telling people at 10 weeks just cos it was obvious.

Good news though, it plateaued.

I was massive from the day I found out! It definitely hasn't continued at the same rate, and especially in the last few weeks (I'm now 36 weeks) I'm not as huge as I dreaded at the beginning.

Carrie exactly the same! I'm 30 weeks now and my mum came to visit and kept staring at my belly and saying "you'll never go to November"

Someone rubbed my pregnant belly at 7 weeks!!

BuggerLumpsAnnoyed - that made me laugh, sorry Grin - rubbing a belly at 7 weeks Grin

DH cannot get over how huge I am already. There was no hiding this from anyone.

My DS said (who knows all about biology from school) - is that (points to belly) the microscopic baby, or the biscuits? (cheeky)

blondiejess1982 - you're never alone Smile - and how exciting, not too long till the scan now! Seeing your new baby for the first time is just amazing. It's hard to believe (even with the bump) that there is anything in there....so the scan makes it all feel more real - if that makes sense! Smile

I had no idea how far on I was at my early dating scan but I couldn't fasten my trousers so assumed about 14 weeks. Turns out I was 9 and it's twins! Grin

I'm 13 weeks and have had a very definite bump for the last 3 weeks... Even the nurse taking my blood for the screening test at 12 weeks asked if it was twins, but the scan showed it was just the one and my dates were spot on!
I'm embracing it though because it makes me realise there's definitely a baby in there and I'm not just a crazy lady imagining things, which is how I felt going up to 10 weeks!

At 14 weeks I was so bloated I looked more pregnant at the end of the day than I do now at 22 weeks. I'd lost 8lbs too so definitely wasn't fat! I'm only just starting to regain the weight now but have a definite bump, but look a bit fat in baggy clothes.

I googled 'pictures of pregnancy at 16 weeks ' as I was worried I looked a bit big. Was relieved to see many sizes and varieties of bumps which put my mind at ease. Good luck to you!.
