Am I holding out false hope or do we stand a chance of things looking brighter today ?

So today is the day (finally) of my nhs dating scan. I am 12+5 today.
A week and a half ago we had a private reassurance scan which showed a live foetus with a 4.5mm nuchal transluncey. We where told it could mean downs, t18, t13, heart problems, spine problems etc. no other soft markers found and a nasal bone was present and the brain divided into two. (Was all we got told) we was advised to phone the hospital which I did.
I phoned the hospital to see if we could move our dating scan forward and get the combined test done to get out risk factor. They couldn't do it so a week ago today we had the combined test privately. We was told we would be automatic high risk as that day the nt measured in at 4.9mm. We where very surprised when our results came in on Friday as being 1:280 chance of downs.
They based it on my age. I am 21. The nuchal measurement which was 3.87 mom. The Papp-a level which was 2.26 mom. The beta hcg level which was 2.99 mom and the nasal bone which was present.
I have read that t21 normally has low level Papp-a and high level hcg and that t18 and t13 normally have low levels of both.
Well I have high of each so I assume that is what bought the risk down.
Today is my nhs dating scan and I'm so scared they'll find something else wrong with our baby for example a worsened amount of fluid, fluid in the stomach etc. I'm scared to death that our baby will have a birth defect and we will have to make the heartbreaking descison to terminate.
I don't know if to get the combined test done again on the nhs but then I'm scared that we will get worse odds.
We have mine milestones ahead, today, sixteen week heart scan and the anomaly scan. I'm so scared and can't picture a healthy baby at the end of all this.

You poor thing - the big benefit of having the NHS test is that you will have consultant support. So you should see someone who can interpret the results and give a risk assessment along with options for proceeding

At the moment - unfortunately - you've been left in a horrible limbo as private sonography era can't make a formal diagnosis

I really hope that things go well today and you can get good medical support Flowers

I would get the test on the NHS because then you will get what you need - support and follow up! Good luck for today.

You absolutely need to get the NHS tests done as they can interpret the results and advise you and support you accordingly.

This is the problem with private scans - they aren't much use with supporting you with concerns and can't really interpret the results.

Keeping everything crossed for you

Thanks everyone.
Well baby was having a right old party today wouldn't stay still for ages. So funny.
Dated at 12+4. Due date 19th March.
When I saw Lady measuring the fluid I mentioned that it was high last week she said " who told you that, it's within the normal range" I told her we had a private scan at 11+4 and she said it was irresponsible to tell me that at such gestation and that the fluid was measuring 2.6mm how. Fantastic news.
We then went upstairs for the bloods and I told the lady about the private scan, she said not to worry about the previous high reading. So we should get even lower odds than 1:280 this time. She said from what they can see now the stomach etc all looks normal.
So 20 week scan booked for fri 30th October. Feel like I can start enjoying my pregnancy again.
