Anyone else very anxious?

So i'm just over 7 weeks pregnant and am incredibly excited, but i'm questioning every little change that's going on and worrying about things. Even worried I haven't had my horrendous dry retching for the last 2 days and yet when they were here I couldn't wait for them to go!

Anyone else been there?

I am a complete worrier and terrible as it sounds because I have had so much support on the conception boards, the pregnancy boards here are not helping this anxiety in any way! I have almost convinced myself it is inevitable that I will have an mmc or miscarry before the 12 week scan as it seems so frequent when you read mumsnet.

On the other hand my midwife did point out that very few people go online to tell everyone what a perfectly average pregnancy they are having....

Teacherbear, you're definitely not alone! 5 weeks preggers here and pretty damn anxious too!

Elated to finally be pregnant but also so worried about all the things that could go wrong! Am having twinges as well but I'm told that this is natural during early stages of pregnancy so trying to relax and enjoy this experience! Easier said than done though...

And you're right dollface, these pregnancy boards only add to the anxiety so I think I may avoid them for the minute.

Have a scan in two weeks to check all is well so far so just trying to focus on being healthy, relaxed and rested till then.

Is there a reason you are having an early scan Ava? I only ask as so many people seem to have them but I haven't been offered anything until I am 12 weeks.

I know I could go private but just curious why some people have a scan at 7 weeks and others don't.

Hey Dollface! (Cool name btw!)

Yep, the reason I'm having an early scan is I had fertility treatment (ovulation induction) which increases the chances of eptopic pregnancy and multiple pregnancies

The 7 weeker is to check that everything is in the right place and if all is, to confirm how many are in there.

Not sure if they will be checking anything else, that's as much as I know!

Thanks Blush

Ah right cool thanks for the answer, I was thinking I was missing something haha. I was having scans for PCOS when they saw my pregnancy sack in my uterus (that's how I found out I was preggers) so I guess I at least know it's in the right place! Feels like so long to wait to hear a heartbeat though.

Good luck with your scan Ava!

You're right that people don't tend to talk so much about having smooth full pregnancies, and by far the majority of pregnacies work out well and you end up with a lovely healthy baby. But sadly 1 in 4 do end in miscarriage, so it does affect a lot of women, hence why it's discussed so much on these boards. And I think it's a very healthy thing do do as its part of pregnancy unfortunately.
Nerves in the early weeks are inevitable. But as long as you're taking pregnancy vits, and looking flatter your health the best you can, then you're doing everything right to protect yourself and your baby.
Wishing you very healthy happy pregnancies.
