Panicking quite a bit re feeling 'wet' down there

I spoke to my midwife a little over an hour ago due to me having a lot of watery discharge and feeling quite 'wet' down below. The discharge itself has a whitish tinge so I don't think it's a leak of amniotic fluid (I'm 22 weeks). She advised me to just get checked out for my own reassurance anyway. I spoke to the maternity assessment unit at my hospital who told me to wear a sanitary towel for two hours and if it's amniotic fluid it would trickle out quite a bit and feel damp. So far it's been 1 hour and it feels fine not damp or anything, although I've just came back from my GP for something unrelated and I was quite warm in the waiting room so I wonder if any dampness I feel around my vagina (not on the pad) is possibly just a little sweat (glamorous, I know).

I've got myself into quite a panic over it and I'm going to ring the maternity assessment unit back at 1pm and I don't think they'll be too concerned as (touch wood) my sanitary towel isn't wet or anything. It's somewhat moist but I do think that could be a mixture of discharge and probably sweat as I've been running round like a lunatic trying to find keys/purse/phone in time to make it to my GP appointment.

I think what's making me worry more than anything is my grandmother had a baby who sadly died about 50 years ago because her waters had broken gradually and when she got it checked out the hospital kept telling her she'd probably just wet herself.

Just looking for any sort of reassurance really, has anyone else experience a lot of watery discharge at 22 weeks? Nothing is 'trickling out' really its just feels wet and there is the occasional damp spot in my underwear but nothing id need to wear a pad for.
I apologise if I come across as really dramatic, I'm just a huge worrier!

TIA

It's probably absolutely fine as more discharge isn't uncommon in pregnancy.
However, if you're still worried it may be worth asking them to check your cervix is still closed.
I have a history of cervix issues and it was something they told me to look out for.
Hope it turns out to be nothing.

Thank you its curtains I was flicking through my notes last night as I'd had some spotting two weeks ago, turns out it was absolutely nothing and after an inspection my cervix was long as closed so I'm hoping this really is just a bit of watery discharge.
I do hope they allow me to go in and be checked over just so I can put my mind at rest but I don't want to waste their time either if it is completely normal.

whatsonemore I will do. I'm due to ring up in 20 minutes anyway, just lying down at the minute to see if I feel anything come out when I stand up!
What were the outcomes of pprom in your pregnancies don't mind me asking?

As I understand it, it's not unusual to have more discharge than usual when I pregnant. I know I certainly did and I wore panty liners (ugh, what an awful phrase!) from about 20 weeks because of it.

Also, my waters broke at 35 weeks and the MW advised me to try lying down on my back for a bit. She said, if it was my waters, then the liquid would kind of pool in the back of the vagina, and gush out when I stood up. Maybe you could try that?

hope you can get some reassurance that all is fine.

Do get it checked out but I too have days where I am positively wet. In the first trimester I kept running to the loo thinking it was blood. I've not had it so much recently (I'm 18 weeks) but do have the odd day where my pants are soaked.

It's normal to have a lot of discharge. I did throughout both of my pregnancies.

I have had loads of discharge during this pregnancy - sometimes rushing to the loo thinking I was bleeding or loosing something. I'm 37 weeks now and still have lots. It's horrid, but the midwife tells me it's normal.

whatsonemore I'm glad you ha positive outcomes after PPROM!

I'm sure this is just discharge it's just been wetter than usual over the past few days, I've been ringing the hospital again just to see what they think as they advised to ring after two hours. Been trying to call over an hour and there's no answer but I'd just like to see what they think for reassurance

Try not to worry, I have had stages of being "wet" down there, and I read you can get more discharge during pregnancy. Sometimes it has been mixed with CW discharge and others it has been like a wet patch in my knickers. Please do get checked out though for your peace of mind.

Just spoke to a lovely midwife she says it just sounds like watery discharge as I've not been leaking any water and my underwear isn't soaked in any way. I feel relieved knowing all seems normal, just a bit of a wet vagina Blush

I've had SO much discharge when pregnant! Always just after I've been to the toilet and wiped then put my underwear on, left the toilet and feel it flood out, so annoying! Have had it since 9 weeks and only now at 35 weeks is it starting to ease up. I have to change my sheets way more often as everytime I get back in bed after going to loo I have a damp patch left on the bed!

Midwife not worried as it's milky so clearly not waters and it doesn't smell funny or anything so is not anything suspicious.

Just another glam symptom of pregnancy!

I definitely notice a lot more 'wetness' after going to the toilet too!
I have suffered from thrush a few times too so now that I don't have it I'm not used to the discharge not being thrush like (took me a lot of trips to the GP and hospital to get a pessary so I had it pretty much from the start).
when there's a lot of discharge it's clearly white and milky but when there's not as much it looks clear but you can often tell if it's on your finger that it's white ish not completely clear! It seems to be slightly thicker than water too the more I stare at it (like it wouldn't necessarily drip anywhere more just stick to around my vagina).

I'm going to leave the discharge now that I'm convinced it's actually just discharge.

Pregnancy has turned me into a bit of a vagina psycho
