I spoke to my midwife a little over an hour ago due to me having a lot of watery discharge and feeling quite 'wet' down below. The discharge itself has a whitish tinge so I don't think it's a leak of amniotic fluid (I'm 22 weeks). She advised me to just get checked out for my own reassurance anyway. I spoke to the maternity assessment unit at my hospital who told me to wear a sanitary towel for two hours and if it's amniotic fluid it would trickle out quite a bit and feel damp. So far it's been 1 hour and it feels fine not damp or anything, although I've just came back from my GP for something unrelated and I was quite warm in the waiting room so I wonder if any dampness I feel around my vagina (not on the pad) is possibly just a little sweat (glamorous, I know).
I've got myself into quite a panic over it and I'm going to ring the maternity assessment unit back at 1pm and I don't think they'll be too concerned as (touch wood) my sanitary towel isn't wet or anything. It's somewhat moist but I do think that could be a mixture of discharge and probably sweat as I've been running round like a lunatic trying to find keys/purse/phone in time to make it to my GP appointment.
I think what's making me worry more than anything is my grandmother had a baby who sadly died about 50 years ago because her waters had broken gradually and when she got it checked out the hospital kept telling her she'd probably just wet herself.
Just looking for any sort of reassurance really, has anyone else experience a lot of watery discharge at 22 weeks? Nothing is 'trickling out' really its just feels wet and there is the occasional damp spot in my underwear but nothing id need to wear a pad for.
I apologise if I come across as really dramatic, I'm just a huge worrier!
TIA
