Didn't want to read and go, but I can't say I have much of a clue! I have no idea if it is possible (I guess no contraceptive is 100% reliable), but I would suggest re-testing in a day or two?

I got pregnant on microgynon. When is your period due?

MattyJenkyns Tue 11-Aug-15 14:33:22

I'm currently pregnant having been on Cilest COCP. It was a massive shock as I've never had a contraceptive failure before and I'm older than you.

I'd re-test.

Perhaps use a first response?

I hope you get the result you want. Fingers crossed.

I also got pregnant while on Microgynon and taking it properly so it does happen.

I got pregnant on microgynon. A GP I saw said it was possible for it to take a while to show up positive on a test due to the hormones from the pill as it can often mask things as well as the symptoms so this may be the case?
I didn't experience a withdrawal bleed which is how I knew I was pregnant pretty much immediately, although it's possible you can still have one but from my experience I didn't.

I'd do a test again and if it still shows up as negative speak to your GP again!

Good luck flowers

It isn't one hundred percent effective so it is definitely possible you could be pregnant. sad

I'd do another test but book a gp appointment now as you will need to speak to someone either to discuss the pregnancy, or to find another reason for your symptoms.

I would retest ASAP to put your mind at rest. But it dies sound like you've had a bit of a virus more than anything else.

MattyJenkyns Tue 11-Aug-15 15:05:25

I'd re-test straight away with a first response. If you were being very sensible and restrained you might wait until the morning smile

I would guess that if the pregnancy hormones are strong enough to make you feel ill then they should be strong enough to show positive on a test

I think its worth doing tonight, especially if you're due to take a pill. Haven't 3 days passed since your last test?

Good luck!

I think Snozberry has a point when she says:
"I would guess that if the pregnancy hormones are strong enough to make you feel ill then they should be strong enough to show positive on a test".

I think it is long enough to wait but on the other hand, if you feel nervous, maybe wait and talk it over with your husband?

I hope it is the result you wanted and that you are OK brew

Isn't it strange how something unexpected like this might make you reconsider your plans?smile It's certainly something for you and DH to think about now!

You may as well re-test in AM just to be doubly sure; with being on the pill it's so hard to know how far along you would be if you were pregnant.

Glad to hear it was a false alarm, it's probably some kind of virus but best get checked at the gp.
