Hi all currently 6 weeks with second dc. Feel awful, being sick, dizzy tired lightheaded, have a 3 yr dd and was very sick with her till 15 weeks got given tablets which helped . I feel like I can't cope and am struggling with work although only part time! I am dreading the pregnancy already where I should be over the moon, surprise but after miscarriages etc we had gotten used to the idea of an only child. Could you give me your coping strategies !!

Congratulations! I'm 15 weeks pregnant so just coming out of this phase now. It will pass by, I promise!

I guess speak to your GP again if the sickness gets bad. It isdifferent second time round because you have your DD to look after as well as yourself, but all I can recommend is being as good to yourself as possible, nap / rest whenever you can and don't stress about housework.

It's normal to have a wobble when you get your BFP and think, oh god, what have I done! But how wonderful that you're pg again after mc and your DD will have a little sibling Smile

Definitely see your GP, there are so many medicines that can help. Prochlorperazine is good for pregnancy nausea, some docs suggest Avomine (that's the brand name, sorry, don't know the chemical name, but it's available over the counter), which is a travel sickness drug also used for pregnancy nausea and dizziniess / queasiness, and that helped me SO much.

Don't suffer in silence!

Thanks I had avomine before but made me so tired although helped with sickness, I look at other people and wonder how they make it look so effortless!!! I need to make most of it as I am 35 so maybe our last chance

Some women get lucky, others don't Sad How long did you take the Avomine for?

From about 6 weeks till 14-15 then started to feel better then felt rough again from about 32 weeks!! I might see how I am later in week my usual gp less than helpful!! I remember my midwife wasn't that impressed either when I was taking it!! But was vomiting 8-10 times a day and had ketones in urine

Oh, I'm taking a lot of meds, midwife was adamant I should suffer through. She can GTFO. It's safe in pregnancy, lots of docs recommend it. Do what works for you - your baby will be fine.

Exactly my dd was fine! No health problems apart from kidney reflux but not caused by anti sickness meds. Not sure what new midwife will be like! But previous one was the same shut up and put up!

Think they're all like that. Although she did acknowledge "I know it's easy for me to say"!

I'm 15 weeks too and still waiting for the exhaustion and nausea to ease. I feel dreadful and could just literally just go to sleep under my desk.

I'm still waiting for the glow to appear!!!

I'm seven weeks and have had to ring in sick to work today. I've gone really feverish and whenever I have had any kind of throwing up in the past it always makes my stomach upset the other way too..... (Ick!) There was no way I was getting on the train at 6:30am. I have my first midwives appt next week and if I'm still feeling like this I will have to ask for help. Reading everyone's comments above have given me a lot of reassurance!
