I posted a few days ago about my situation and it seems to be getting even more stressful :-(

Has any one experienced a 5 week scan and seen only a sac?? My levels more than doubled yesterday from 1025 to 2195 which is positive but only seeing an empty sac on scan has made me even more scared about another failed preg :-(((( any one with similar levels and not seen much??

I'm going back for a scan a week tomorrow.... It's going to be a long and horrible week.

Thanks xxx

Try not to panic at 5+5 roughly I saw a sac and a yolk sac. Really panicked a week later I saw a 7mm embryo with a heartbeat. I had spotting for a week between 3-4.
It's very early and common not to see a yolk sac at your stage. Let us know how it goes and try not to panic.

At 5 weeks, seeing only a sac can be considered normal and expected. The doubled hcg is a positive sign. ATM, you can't expect any answers from a scan.

All you can tell yourself is that the clinical signs are good and as they should be. I know how interminable that waiting seems. I wish I could make it go faster for you.

Thanks guys!

To make matters worse they also found a massive (the scan woman's words?!) cyst!

I think I feel so anxious because this is pretty much the same scan and levels we had before we had the mc 5 weeks ago?!

Did they tell you what sort of cyst? It is a corpus luteum cyst? If it is, it's pretty common and a sign of a developing pregnancy. It usually disappears all on its own by the time you're 12 weeks. It can cause some discomfort.

Frankie I had an ovarian cyst rupture at 4 weeks was agonizing pain. They mistakes it for an ectopic pregnancy that's how I found out my hcg was only 250 and then a few days later only rose to 410. I'm now 23 weeks pregnant with the same pregnancy and I still have one cyst left in there. If you search my name you find a post of mine back in march/April from when I went through it it was devastating they told me it was ectopic n then the cyst ruptured and then they told me the baby didn't survive but they were wrong so please try not to panic all your signs are looking good x

I had a 5 week scan with just the sac showing, they said two weeks later would be best so we waited and then they saw everything, it was fine. It's a difficult wait, but I don't think it's a bad sign.

They didn't say what type of cyst, just it was big. It wasn't there 5 weeks ago when we had the miscarriage either! I'm not really coping with all this to be honest if it's another failed I'm going to be devastated the numbers are pretty much the same, the scan was pretty much the same its just so hard :-( x

At 5 weeks we saw 3 empty sacs!
7 weeks 3 sacs - 2 empty and 1 with two heartbeats!
Unfortunately at 12 weeks there was only 1 heartbeat.
Oliver is now 6 weeks old!
I know it's hard and scary but I'm sure all will be fine and you'll have the relief of seeing your little beans hb at your next scan! Stay positive :)
